  1. Eng 52-3published at 8 overs

    Target 334

Danni Wyatt is in at number five and is away quickly, carving the ball through backward point for four. Top shot to get off the mark.

The 50 is up for England, they're scoring just about quickly enough but the wickets are already a concern.

On first look, that looked like it was outside the line for me.

    Lamb lbw b Thakur 15 (Eng 47-3)

Partnership broken. England are in trouble.

Emma Lamb went a long way across her stumps and missed as she tried to flick the ball to leg. She delays briefly to consider a review before trudging off.

I think that might have been worth a look, she went a long, long way across and may even have been hit outside the line of off stump. It was close but England are three down.

Going back to the England's bowling attack, you can tell they are missing the influence of Heather Knight.

  6. Eng 45-2published at 7 overs

    Capsey 25, Lamb 13

Emma Lamb gets in on the act, moving across her stumps and ramping Pooja Vastrakar for four.

Superbly played. England are going to give this chase everything they've got.

I'm so impressed by the confidence and the ability and this is why people talk about her.

Alice Capsey has moved to 24 all in boundaries! Absolutely glorious.

  9. Eng 38-2published at 6 overs

    Target 334

It is early days but Alice Capsey is batting like someone who doesn't have time for your 'England have got no chance' takes!

She thumps Thakur back over her head for four and then crashes the last delivery of the over through the covers for four more.

Plenty of people - myself included - might question whether England can chase these runs down. Alice Capsey is not among them.

Goodness me! It is a thing of beauty. You'll struggle to find a better shot than that.

The worm shows England are one run behind India. England are 29 for 2 after 5 overs. At the same stage India were 30 for 1.
  11. Eng 29-2published at 5 overs

    Target 334

Alice Capsey is only 18 years old. She has got an injured hand. And she's just played two of the best shots you'll see today - or any day.

The first is timed perfectly through the leg side. Her balance at the crease evident as she takes the ball off her pads and away to the rope.

Next ball, just outside off and this one is drilled between extra cover and mid-off for four more. Glorious.

Here is that run out of Tammy Beaumont. Not the way the England opener would have wanted her innings to end on her home ground...

  13. Eng 20-2published at 4 overs

    Target 334

Signs that that hand injury might be troubling Capsey as she quickly takes her hand off the bat after playing her first ball.

Actually, no. Ignore that. Capsey responds with back-to-back boundaries to end the over. The first is whipped through midwicket before the next is punched through extra cover.

England's bright young talent gives us another glimpse of what the future holds.

    Dunkley b Thakur 1 (Eng 12-2)

Bowled her! Renuka Singh Thakur makes a mess of Sophia Dunkley's stumps.

It was an almighty swing of the bat from Dunkley as she tried to heave the ball over the leg side. She missed, though, Thakur hit and England's task gets ever more difficult.

In comes Alice Capsey. Remember she injured her hand in the field earlier.

That's a good looking shot from Lamb! Beautiful.

  16. Eng 12-1published at 3 overs

    Dunkley 1, Lamb 5

Gorgeous shot from Emma Lamb to end the third over. A touch too full, a little too wide as well from Goswami and Lamb is forward to drive beautifully through the covers for four. More of those, please.

  17. Eng 7-1published at 2 overs

    Target 334

A less than ideal way for England to lose one of their most experienced batters so early in this record chase.

Sophia Dunkley is in at number three. What I would say is that if Sophia Dunkley bats the majority of the remaining 48 overs then I'd back England to get close... I may be getting ahead of myself, though.

What a day it is for Kaur!

    WICKETpublished at 1.5 overs

Beaumont run out (Kaur) 6 (Eng 7-1)

    Not the start England needed.

Tammy Beaumont hit a firm on drive towards mid-on and called for the single. The fielder picked it up, took aim and threw down the stumps with Beaumont well short of her ground.

The fielder? Harmanpreet Kaur, of course (it does say it in the headline...). She can do no wrong today.

  20. Eng 4-0published at 1 over

    Target 334

Just as we hear that Goswami has dismissed Beaumont more than any other batter in ODIs - eight times - the England opener goes back and rockets the ball through square leg for four.

England are up and running in this mammoth chase.
