Oooh, that was very close indeed. Charlie Dean just gets her toe down in time before the bails light up.

  2. Umpire reviewpublished at 26.3 overs

Now, has Charlie Dean been stumped? Yastika Bhatia certainly thinks so.

    The umpires send it upstairs.

Dean and Jones have shown if you build a partnership it does get easier out there.

Charlie Dean has one of the most extravagent leaves. She's a bit like Steve Smith.

  5. Eng 98-7published at 26 overs

India turn to a bit of pace as Pooja Vastrakar comes into the attack.

Charlie Dean uses that extra pace to play a lovely cut fine and away for four.

    Great shot.

This partnership is exactly what the doctor ordered for England.

Thanks, Sam. What a treat indeed.

I have to admit I also didn't think we would get this far 20 minutes ago. But Amy Jones and Charlie Dean are digging in.

  8. Eng 92-7published at 25 overs

    Target 170

Just a single from Gayakwad's latest and we're halfway through the innings.

The good news for you all is that England have lasted long enough that I am able to hand over to Tom Mallows for the remainder of the innings. At one stage I feared you'd miss out on such a treat.

  9. Eng 91-7published at 24 overs

    Target 170

Charlie Dean has waited patiently and the bad ball does come. Dragged down by Hemalatha and pulled firmly in front of square. However, Gayakwad does very well in the deep to cut it off and deny England a boundary.

A single ends the over. England need another 79 to win.

  10. Eng 88-7published at 23 overs

    Target 170

Maiden over from Gayakwad. Jones is well aware that the run-rate is not a factor. If England bat their overs, or anywhere close, they will win.

However, with seven wickets down already, that's a big if.

Sophie Ecclestone was Rajeshwari Gayakwad's second wicket with Jhulan Goswami taking a very good catch at slip.

  12. Eng 88-7published at 22 overs

    Dean 9, Jones 23

Three singles from Hemalatha's over. The off-spinner is getting plenty of turn from a surface that is starting to look a little dry.

Can Jones and Dean hold their nerve to take this game deep for England?

  13. Eng 85-7published at 21 overs

    Target 170

Jones finds the boundary with a thick outside edge as she tries to cut Gayakwad. England will take everything they can get in this position.

Gayakwad gives them a reminder of how tough it will be for them, though, with a lovely ball to finish the over. It grips and turns to find Dean's edge. Short of slip, though.

Just one partnership. That's what England have to think. Just something to make India nervous.

The worm shows England are two runs ahead of India. England are 85 for 7 after 21 overs. At the same stage India were 83 for 4.

  15. Eng 78-7published at 20 overs

    Target 170

Hemalatha finds her length rather better after that loosener to start, just a pair of singles from the last five.

We're going to have another change of bowling now. Gayakwad is coming back on.

Harmanpreet Kaur has not been shy of rotating her bowlers but you can't argue with the results.

Charlie Dean is so good at picking length, especially against spin.

If India knew Dean well they would try and get seam on as her strongest suit is against spin.

  17. Eng 76-7published at 19.1 overs

    Target 170

Dayalan Hemalatha comes on and starts with a horrible drag down. Smashed through the leg side by Dean for a welcome England boundary.

Rajeshwari Gayakwad saw Danni Wyatt hammer her first two balls for four. The India spinner had the last laugh, though, by bowling the England batter two balls later.

  19. Eng 72-7published at 19 overs

    Dean 2, Jones 14

Deepti Sharma keeps things tight for India again. Just a single from the over as Charlie Dean pushes the last delivery out to deep point.
