  1. Pollard, De Kock & Russell signed but Warner & Babar miss out

Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell and Quinton de Kock were among the big overseas names signed in the men's Hundred draft.

Pollard has joined London Spirit while his West Indies team-mate Russell was signed by Manchester Originals and South Africa international De Kock retained by Southern Brave.

But a number of other international players have not been signed. David Warner, Aaron Finch, Chris Gayle and Babar Azam are among those to have missed out.

Instead, teams spent big on domestic players who will definitely be available. Joe Clarke (Welsh Fire), Tom Banton (Welsh Fire), Liam Dawson (London Spirit), Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Laurie Evans (Manchester Originals) have all been signed in the top wage bracket.

The women's competition promises to be star-studded with 19 of the 22 players from the recent Women's World Cup final involved.

Australia's World Cup-winning captain has signed for Trent Rockets while England opener Tammy Beaumont has made an intriguing switch from London Spirit to Welsh Fire where she will be captain.

  2. What's next?

All of the signings made at the draft have now been announced. You can see the full list here. Otherwise scroll down for more detail on every team.

There are still places to be filled in the women's squads. Teams have until June to do that.

In the men's competition the only places that remain are the two wildcards - one overseas and one domestic. These will be announced in June.

Then the tournament will get under way on 3 August.

  3. Molineux joins Perry and Devine in Birmingham

    Sophie Molinuex

Finally, Birmingham Phoenix's women. Australia spin-bowling all-rounder Sophie Molineux missed the World Cup with injury but has been signed for the Hundred.

She joins in addition to world-class duo Sophie Devine, the New Zealand captain, and Ellyse Perry, arguably the greatest female cricketer ever, who had already been confirmed.

    Massive.

Exciting 22-year-old batter Sterre Kalis joins from Northern Superchargers too.

  5. Australia's McGrath joins the Brave

    Tahlia McGrath

Southern Brave's women looked the team to beat for much of the competition last year before coming unstuck in the final against Oval Invincibles.

They have made a few tweaks with the most significant the signing of Australia all-rounder Tahlia McGrath. She joins Smriti Mandhana and Amanda-Jade Wellington, both of whom were retained from last year, as the overseas players.

The other additions are domestic. Georgia Adams and Jo Gardner join from Oval Invincibles while Freya Kemp and Ella McCaughan are retained.

  6. Southern Brave squad in full

    Chris Jordan
    • Jofra Archer (centrally contracted)
    • Quinton de Kock (overseas, £125,000)

    • Joe Weatherley (£30,000)
    • Dan Moriarty (£30,000)
  7. Post update

    Rehan Ahmed

I'm already excited to see Rehan Ahmed in this year's Hundred. His deal is worth £50,000 too!

Southern Brave look the men's team to beat again. Marcus Stoinis had already been confirmed as one of their other overseas players, having missed last year.

Throw in Jofra Archer who is expected to be fit for white-ball cricket and they could be very tough to beat.

  8. De Kock re-signed by Brave as Ahmed gets chance

    Video content

Video caption: 'Kaboom!' - De Kock hammers away six in match-winning knock

What do you do with a title-winning team? Not too much it seems.

Southern Brave have used their right-to-match card to resign South Africa star Quinton de Kock.

Given De Kock has retired from Test cricket and will therefore not playing in the series against England in August, he should have a big role to play.

The Brave's most exciting pick is arguably 17-year-old leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed. Like Jacob Bethell who was signed by Welsh Fire, Ahmed was a star of England's run to the Under-19 World Cup final.

Another highly-rated spinner, Surrey's Dan Moriarty, has also been signed by the Brave, as has Hampshire batter Joe Weatherley.

    The team to beat again?

  9. Phoenix punt for Australia's Wade

    Matthew Wade

Bimringham Phoenix have spent £125,000 on Australia wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade, seemingly in the hope he will not be involved in international fixtures expected to be confirmed the summer.

Another Australian, fast bowler Kane Richardson, takes Phoenix's other overseas spot.

Elsewhere the 2021 runners-up have brought in Olly Stone, who was contracted to the Superchargers last year but did not play because of injury. The England international is expected to return in white-ball cricket this summer.

Matthew Fisher, who made his Test debut for England in West Indies last month, is signed after a stint at his local club the Superchargers while Gloucestershire's South Africa-born all-rounder Graeme Van Buuren gets a Hundred gig for the first time.

  10. The big names not picked

That means David Warner, Chris Gayle, Tabraiz Shamsi, Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir and Aaron Finch have all gone unsold in the draft.

There is still slim hope of a deal, however.

All teams can pick a fourth wildcard overseas player in June, along with their wildcard domestic player.

  13. Post update

There are just teams to go now - Birmingham Phoenix and Southern Brave. They are the runner-up and winner in the men's competition last year so had to wait their turn in the draft.

There are still a host of big names - Quinton de Kock, David Warner, Babar Azam, Aaron Finch and Mohammad Amir to name a few - who have not been signed.

All will be revealed at 15:00 BST.

  14. Post update

And the signing of Matt Milnes gives me an excuse to get out this clip again.

Don't forget the county season starts this week.

  15. Post update

Neither Cartwright nor Rossouw are likely to play for their countries this summer so they look like solid if not spectacular signings.

Spinner Danny Briggs is another decent addition, having left Southern Brave who we will get to shortly.

  16. Oval Invincibles men's squad in full

    Sam Curran
    • Sam Curran (centrally contracted)

  18. Post update

Lauren Winfield-Hill: "It was a tough decision to leave Northern Superchargers but I‘m really excited to be joining Oval Invincibles. The team set the standard and I can’t wait to hopefully help the side defend their crown."

  19. Winfield-Hill heads south

    Lauren Winfield-Hill

Oval Invincibles are the women's defending champions.

Their most interesting move is the signing of experienced England batter Lauren Winfield-Hill, who was captain at Northern Superchargers last year but has not agreed to stay.

The South Africa core of captain Dane van Niekerk, all-rounder Marizane Kapp and bowler Shabnim Ismail remains.

Aylish Cranstone and Emily Windsor have moved from London Spirit and Trent Rockets respectively while Eva Gray has agreed to stay. Surrey wicketkeeper-batter Kira Chathli gets her first Hundred deal.

  20. Post update

It's clear now teams are steering away from spending their big money on marquee overseas players.

David Warner, Babar Azam, Chris Gayle and Aaron Finch all entered the draft but instead the big-money spots are going to domestic players who can guarantee their availability.
