  1. wicket

WICKET Davies b Wheal 6published at 2.1 overs

    Bears 11-2 (Target 187)

    Bullseye!

Brad Wheal comes into the third over and he strikes gold first ball.

Alex Davies makes room to try and hit the scoop shot. But he misses and Wheal hits. The first lesson any kid should be start about bowling.

Not sure the first ball is the right time to be playing that extravagant shot from Davies.

  2. Postpublished at 2 overs

    Bears 11-1 (Target 187)

New batter Sam Hain is up and running with a streaky four as he somehow squirts the ball between wicketkeeper and first slip.

But that is the only scoring shot from an excellent Nathan Ellis over.

  3. wicket

WICKET Stirling c Weatherley b Ellis 1published at 1.2 overs

    Bears 7-1 (Target 187)

Hampshire's Australia T20 man Nathan Ellis has the ball in hand. And he only needs two balls to strike!

It's a slower ball and Paul Stirling can only send it steepling up into the late evening sunshine and Joe Weatherley takes it at wide mid-on.

The big-hitting Ireland batter is a big victim for the Hawks.

  4. Postpublished at 1 over

    Bears 7-0 (Target 187)

Chris Wood to lead Hampshire's defence. Paul Stirling and Alex Davies to begin the chase for the Bears.

And Davies only needs two balls to crack the first boundary.

But Wood responds well with two dots to finish his opening over.

  5. Can Bears handle the pressure of the chase?published at 20:00 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Bears 0-0 v Hampshire 186-6

So Hampshire couldn't quite make it to 200, but their results have not really been built on posting huge scores, but their ability to defend.

While Yorkshire's 160 did not feel like a winning score last night and we all know how that went.

It's the last eight with a place at Finals Day at stake and we all know what that creates. PRESSURE.

Four for 30 from Carlos Brathwaite. A fantastic effort from the West Indian.

  7. Hampshire innings comes to an endpublished at 19:50 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Hampshire 186-6 (20 overs) v Bears

Hampshire just miss out on posting 200.

    But this is still challenging.

The Bears have gone past 200 seven times out of 14 in the group games.

But Hampshire are the masters of defending.

They have successfully defended 140, 134, 155 and 150 this season.

So just as the Bears will be confident of chasing, Hampshire will think they can stop them.

  8. wicket

    WICKET - Dawson c Hose b Brathwaite 2published at 19:47 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Hampshire 184-6 (19.3 overs) v Bears

A fourth wicket for the skipper.

Liam Dawson launches a flier in the direction of midwicket - but Adam Hose holds on to take the catch.

It's a fourth wicket for Carlos Brathwaite, to earn him his best T20 bowling figures for the Bears.

  9. dropped catch

One over left . . .published at 19:44 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Hampshire 180-5 (19 overs) v Bears

Couple of sniffs in that over but Liam Dawson and James Fuller survive.

Last over to be bowled by Carlos Brathwaite.

  10. Postpublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Kevan James

Not quite out of the middle of the bat but Joe Weatherley has done his job for the team this evening.

  11. wicket

    WICKET - Weatherley c Miles b Stone 47published at 19:40 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Hampshire 171-5 (18.2 overs) v Bears

Now Joe Weatherley is gone too as he holes out to deep midwicket.

Liam Dawson is the new man in, to join James Fuller.

Momentum lost again for the Hawks.

  12. Postpublished at 19:38 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Hampshire 169-4 (18 overs) v Bears

Two overs to go. Olly Stone to bowl the first of them.

  13. wicket

    WICKET - Whiteley c Lintott b Brathwaite 24published at 19:36 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Hampshire 167-4 (17.4 overs) v Bears

Another key wicket as Ross Whiteley drills an attempted low-struck six off Carlos Brathwaite to long off - but only finds the safe hands of Jake Lintott.

  14. ouch!

Postpublished at 19:34 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Hampshire 162-3 (17.1 overs) v Bears

Joe Weatherley cops one on the helmet from Carlos Brathwaite. Quick health check.

Obviously did him the power of good as he swats the next ball back over long off for four.

  15. Postpublished at 19:32 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Clive Eakin

Hampshire are utilising these closing overs very well and they have plenty of wickets in hand.

I'll think they will be very disappointed not to get to 200.

  16. Postpublished at 19:31 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Hampshire 162-3 (17 overs) v Bears

Hampshire have picked up the pace again.

Another 13 from that one - and suddenly 200 is looking a possibility again.

Captain Carlos comes back on to hopefully stem the flow.

  17. Postpublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Hampshire 149-3 (16 overs) v Bears

The runs are coming again as Joe Weatherley and Ross Whiteley warm to the task.

14 off that one from Olly Stone, the last four of them a bouncer that sailed over keeper Alex Davies's head.

Four left. Dan Mousley comes back for his final over.

  18. Postpublished at 19:24 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Hampshire 135-3 (15 overs) v Bears

Jake Lintott finally goes for a few. 16 off that one.

Reverse sweep from Joe Weatherley over third man for four and a carve through extra cover for another and, in between, Ross Whiteley clubs him for six over long on.

Main strike bowler Olly Stone returns to the attack.

  19. Postpublished at 19:20 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Hampshire 119-3 (14 overs) v Bears

Danny Briggs suffers again. Helped by a straight six from Joe Weatherley, it's another 11 off the over.

Six more to go. And it's Lintott time again.

  20. Hawks having to regrouppublished at 19:18 British Summer Time 7 July 2022

    Kevan James
Former Middlesex & Hampshire cricketer on BBC Radio Solent

The boundaries have dried up here as Hampshire try to regroup after those three quick wickets.

They are dealing almost exclusively in singles at the moment.
