I still believe the introduction of Adil Rashid will decide this game. He will be the danger man when it comes to bowling. Can Pakistan hit him for eight, or even nine per over?

The worm shows Pakistan are four runs ahead of England. Pakistan are 46 for 0 after 5 overs. At the same stage England were 42 for 0.
  2. Pak 46-0published at 5.0 overs

Another boundary as Babar Azam flashes David Willey's fourth ball to the boundary through third.

Moeen Ali turns to Liam Dawson to stem the tide.

The home fans are absolutely thrilled with this performance from the opening batters.

He plays that shot so well. It's just pure timing. He gets his hands down so low to whip the ball over fine leg.

  5. 6 runs

    Pak 37-0published at 4.2 overs

Mohammad Rizwan steps across and nochantly flicks David Willey for six. He just helped that on his way. Not going Willey's way so far this evening.

  6. Pak 32-0published at 4.0 overs

Good comeback from Luke Wood, who strikes me as the kind of ultra competitive man that plays a game of draughts like his life depends on it.

EPH: Are we getting a little arrogant, a little too soon again? This Pakistan team can make 200 against these bowlers.

  8. Pak 31-0published at 3.4 overs

The third musketeer of England's left-arm seamers this evening - complete with D'Artagnan moustache and goatee - is Luke Wood and he's next into the attack.

The Lancashire quick bowler's second delivery is a tad short and Babar Azam gloriously cuts him for four. Wood comes back with a couple of quick dot balls in response.

    Good battle this.

A lot of focus on England favouring left-arm bowlers in T20 cricket. There's data somewhere - don't ask me where - which backs it up. One thing I will say is England's left-arm bowlers are all different in their own way. David Willey swings it, Luke Wood has the pace, Reece Topley hits the deck while Sam Curran is skiddy with a lower trajectory.

  10. Pak 25-0published at 3.0 overs

A slower ball from Sam Curran to finish and Babar Azam picks it. It's a bit of an ugly drag over the bowler's head through mid-on, but nonetheless effective as it races away for four more.

The worm shows Pakistan are one run ahead of England. Pakistan are 25 for 0 after 3 overs. At the same stage England were 24 for 0.

The England fielders and bowlers are hunting wickets right now. They're trying to force the Pakistan batters into mistakes.

  12. Pak 17-0published at 2.4 overs

The rather despondent glum-faced David Willey is replaced by another left-arm seamer in the form of Sam Curran. He's wiping the sweat away from his brow with a big blue sweatband after a couple of deliveries.

Babar Azam has a little look and then flays him down the ground for four, beating the dive of the fielder at mid-on.

Pakistan are feeling their way into this game. They have not come out all guns blazing.

A couple of singles to finish. Tight stuff from Liam Dawson.

Liam Dawson comes into the attack which I think is a good move for England. He'll bowl intelligently here.

  17. Pak 14-0published at 1.4 overs

Left-arm Liam spinner Dawson on early for England. Not a prodigious turner of the ball but he has a good economy in the powerplay overs so his role will be containing here.

Two singles off his first four balls. "Really good Dawsy. top drawer" barks Phil Salt from behind the stumps.

Lovely timing from Rizwan. There's a little bit more intent but that's necessary when you're chasing 200.

  19. Pak 12-0published at 1 over

The hirsute David Willey is stroking his fashionable stubble after his second ball is dispatched to the boundary by Mohammad Rizwan with a classy back foot cut.

Two balls later he's full and straight and Rizwan angles a flick through mid-on using the pace of the ball to send it scurrying away to the boundary.

    Good start for Pakistan

Anyway, David Willey is going through his warming up exercises. He'll look to swing it around a little first up.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan at the crease for Pakistan.
