Just over! Shan had to clear him and he did.
Target 222
Another maximum to end the over! It's a good effort from Ben Duckett on the deep midwicket boundary but he can only tip it over the bar - six more to Shan Masood.
Target 222
An ugly heave from Masood as he advances to Moeen Ali. It brings only a single but the intent is there for all to see: every ball must go!
A single from the next delivery brings up the 50 partnership.

Pakistan are only 14 runs behind where England were at this point so there is some hope.

You can hear the crowd getting behind their team.
Target 222
Halfway through the innings and the crowd are up again as Shan Masood moves across his stumps and ramps Curran for four more.
England still well on top but the situation is slightly less desperate for Pakistan than it was at the end of the powerplay. Time for drinks.
Target 222
Short from Sam Curran and Khushdil swivels on it to send the ball high over long leg for another six.
This pair have no option but to just keep swinging and it's going well for them so far.

Wow I though the summer was over but this is HEAT from Mark Wood.

Target 222
Good finish to the over from Rashid, just a pair of single from the last three balls but it's 14 from the over. That is still less than Pakistan require if they are to chase down 222 and go 2-1 up in the series.
It seems unlikely.
Heather Knight
England captain on BBC Test Match Special
Clever batting from Shan. This is what Pakistan need.
Target 222
After a four through the covers, Shan Masood punishes a horrible full toss from Adil Rashid. The ball sails away over deep square leg!
A rare bad ball from the England leggie.

There are enough balls available to get the runs but feels at this stage a hopeless task.
A well-run two from the last. The home side are doing just enough to give themselves the faintest glimmer of hope but they need to be nigh-on perfect from here.

Something to cheer about at last with that six!
Target 222
Moeen Ali on and Khushdil Shah decides he has to go. Fifth ball of the over, he's down the track and flays the ball over extra cover for six - the first of the innings!
Not pretty, but it was effective for Pakistan.
Target 222
Adil Rashid is into the attack. Can Pakistan do better against spin than they have against speed?
Well, there is no wicket in the over which is an improvement on the last few and Khushdil Shah ends it with a well-executed reverse sweep for four.
Pakistan need plenty more of that sort of thing.

I think it's fair to say the powerplay has conclusively been won by England.
Target 222
The end of the powerplay and England could not have hoped for better.
Two wickets for Mark Wood, one for Reece Topley and now Sam Curran has got in on the act.
Pakistan need 193 more runs at 13.78 an over with just six wickets remaining. Hmm.
Paul Farbrace
Former England assistant coach on BBC Test Match Special
A straightforward catch for Reece Topley and Pakistan going absolutely nowhere.
Iftikhar c Topley b S Curran 6 (Pak 28-4)
It's not 97mph but it's it's quick enough to bring another wicket.
Banged in by Sam Curran, that surprises the batter and he gets the pull shot all wrong. The ball loops up Reece Topley at mid-off and Pakistan might be done before we're even out of the powerplay.
