Pakistan's last pair just need to rotate the strike and try to bat out the overs. The pitch has looked slow at the start and shorter deliveries were not getting up. Pakistan's bowlers will know they will have to mix it up.

  2. Pak 134-9published at 18 overs

    Wasim 1, Rauf 2

Pakistan's number 11 is Haris Rauf and he is beaten by a Sam Curran slower ball. How quickly can England finish this off?

Mohammad Rizwan could have hit that anywhere but has somehow picked out Adil Rashid, who barely had to move.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17.4 overs

    Rizwan c Rashid b Curran 63 (Pak 131-9)

Now Rizwan has to go! He has managed to flick a leg-stump full toss from Sam Curran straight to fine leg.

The end is nigh for Pakistan in this innings.

Mark Wood's figures are so good, he's still only gone for 20 from his four overs despite that six.

  6. Pak 129-8published at 17 overs

That six spoils Wood's figures just slightly but he still finishes with 3-20. He has been brilliant and looks shattered.

He's got all of that! A massively needed six. He's smiling and why not.

  8. 6 runs

    Pak 126-8published at 16.4 overs

Big! Mohammad Rizwan finally gets hold of Mark Wood, swinging him away over the boundary.

Wood isn't happy with where his foot is landing on the crease. Is he saying he's slipped?

  9. Pak 120-8published at 16.2 overs

Annoyingly for England, Wasim gets off strike with a leg bye.

  10. Pak 119-8published at 16.1 overs

Mark Wood returns to try and finish things off. Rizwan thinks about turning down a single but eventually runs down for one.

Wood will fancy his chances against the number 10 here...

  11. Pak 118-8published at 16 overs

Mohammad Wasim joins Mohammad Rizwan now. Pakistan are in real danger of not seeing out their overs.

A frustrating way to get out when your team is in a bit of trouble. It was actually a slower ball bouncer from Sam Curran.

A strangle down the leg side. It's an irritating way to get out on your debut.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 15.5 overs

    Jamal c Salt b Curran 10 (Pak 118-8)

Another short ball. Another wicket. This time debutant Aamer Jamal has gloved Sam Curran behind to Phil Salt.

Short is certainly the way to go tonight.

  15. Pak 117-7published at 15.3 overs

Rizwan is averaging a quite ridiculous 67.4 this year in T20s and that's down from 73 in 2021! He's a sensational player.

You'd think Pakistan would have to get up to 150 at least to have any chance.

  16. 50 runs

50 for Rizwanpublished at 15 overs

What does Rizwan do here? There's only the bowlers to come now and he's out there with a lad on debut.

For now it looks like he's going to get his head down and sprint twos. The latest in Woakes' over takes him to fifty from 37 balls.

    England bowler on BBC Two

It's nice to see Mark Wood come back form injury and perform straight away. Encouraging for someone like myself who is on that road to recovery.

Chris Woakes is back. Rizwan is still there on 44, by the way.

David Gower has just said on the TV that criminal proceedings should be brought against the batters for those run-outs.

  19. Pak 106-7published at 14 overs

The flurry of wickets brings Aamer Jamal to the crease on his Pakistan debut. He has only played 12 T20s domestically.

Jamal has Adil Rashid to face - no easy task - and gets his first boundary when inside-edging a googly narrowly past his stumps. He knew absolutely nothing about that.

Pakistan are going to need something special to get up to anything competitive here.
