Just as we were saying Ireland really needed to put the foot down, they've gifted West Indies a boundary.
Laura Delany's first ball is cut past mid-off through Jane Maguire's legs and runs away to the boundary for four. West Indies will love that!
Maguire then takes a tumble at mid-off, as she looks to stop another drive, and is moved to extra cover by the skipper.

The seamers are doing the job at the moment, just tying things up. This has been an expensive over but it has been hard to play without pace on the ball.
Could this drop by Amy Hunter earlier be costly?

While Hayley Matthews is there West Indies will believe. But when you're on a run of 15 matches without a win, it is hard to believe.
WI 58-2
It's a full ball from Jane Maguire and it's clipped past deep square leg by Hayley Matthews between the umpire's legs for four.
Another wide ball from Maguire goes behind point for another boundary.
West Indies will need a lot more of those if they don't want to be eliminated tonight. Play stops for a drink.
Chinelle Henry is off the mark with a single and Ireland's skipper Laura Delany's over ends with a dot.

This is where it gets tricky for West Indies. Is anyone going to support Hayley Matthews?
Campbelle lbw b Delany 8 (WI 46-2)
Unlucky for the West Indies.
The ball was pitching outside off and it was hitting the top of middle and off stump.
Delany jumps in the air to celebrate. Here comes Chinelle Henry.
Shemaine Campbelle is gone this time! Or is she?
After a chat with captain Hayley Matthews she, rather reluctantly, decides to review it.
Shemaine Campbelle survives. The ball is grazing the very top of the bails and it's umpire's call.
The over finishes with a single.

It's got her right in the ribs. It's a nasty one.
Shemaine Campbelle goes down on one knee and tries to go for a sweep, but she's too early on the shot.
Ireland, after a chat, decide to send it upstairs for another look.
West Indies respond with back-to-back boundaries by Hayley Matthews through cover.

It's really tough on Hayley Matthews. She's their captain, their best bowler and their best batter. She has to do it all and when the run-rate is creeping up on her. I don't think anyone would blame her for feeling the pressure a bit.
There's some more hesitation about taking a single with the West Indies batters.
Arlene Kelly bowls short and Shemaine Campbelle hits it towards backward point. The throw comes in but shy of the stumps. If it hit Campbelle would have been out.

Hunter with the throw there as well. She's had the missed catch but what I loved was all the Ireland girls were around her there to tell her it was alright, we've got the wicket, we've got the breakthrough.
Williams run out (Paul) 17 (WI 28-1)
Leah Paul comes into the attack and Rashada Williams hits it towards backward point.
There's hesitation to take the single and Amy Hunter collects on the bounce, before throwing the ball to the non-striker's end where Paul whips off the bails. We have the first wicket!
The over ends with a dot ball and in comes Shemaine Campbelle.
Left-armer Leah Paul comes round the wicket and Hayley Matthews sweeps it behind square leg for a boundary.

You can't be giving captain Hayley Matthews an extra life. West Indies should be one down and well below the run-rate.
