Verma is losing her length here and England are starting to find their groove.

  2. Eng 72-3published at 10 overs

It's Sciver-Brunt getting into the action now as Shafali Verma comes into the attack.

She slips a reverse sweep finely to the boundary, and then unleashes on a lofted delivery to the mid-wicket hoardings.

Eleven off this over and this partnership is now worth 43 runs off just over five overs. This card might not be what England had hoped for at the beginning of the match, but it's a fair bit better than they might have thought it would be just a few overs ago.

  3. Eng 61-3published at 9 overs

Three more for Knight through deep cover off the penultimate ball of the over before Sciver-Brunt adds a single.

    12 off the over.

England need to be patient and wait for the bad balls.

That's the shot Heather Knight has been looking for. Fast hands and getting into position early and knows that once you get it past backward point the ball will run away to the boundary,

  6. Eng 57-3published at 8.3 overs

    Consecutive fours from Heather Knight!

A bit of pressure released by new bowler Rajeshwari Gayakwad. Knight starts us off with a fine reverse-sweep before absolute clouting a conventional version for four more.

  7. Eng 49-3published at 8 overs

You might not want to watch the three England wickets to fall so far, but here they are...

  8. Eng 49-3published at 7.5 overs

Classy from Sciver-Brunt as hits Sharma to the ropes at long-on.

This is not what England needed! There was no need to run that single.

    Nope!

Sciver-Brunt calls Knight through from the non-striker's end - it's a tight single to Mandhana at short third but the hit isn't direct and the diving England batter is home safe.

There's no pace on the ball from Shikha Pandey.

India save Thakur for one more later on and Shikha Pandey switches ends.

She starts with four dots from some slower deliveries, before Sciver-Brunt scoops the final ball over fine leg for two.

Shafali Verma is not one of the best fielders. A welcome boundary for England.

This is closer than it appeared initially, but I'm still not buying it. Ah, it's touched Heather Knight's gloves on the way through - not out.

A curious review, but you can see why India would want to oust England's experienced captain in this scenario.

Knight responds with a four past Verma at mid-on, who offers a rather pitiful attempt at a stop.

Did Heather Knight need to do the reverse sweep so early on?

This is a much better shout than India's first review but you could see the reluctance from Harmanpreet Kaur because they've already wasted one.

Another wicket here and England are in deep, deep trouble.

  20. Umpire reviewpublished at 5.2 overs

Our first sight of spin with Deepti Sharma coming into the attack.

She has Heather Knight on the pads in front, but she took a big step forward and the umpire shakes her head.

Kaur is going upstairs though - again, this seems optimistic.
