That was a good opening partnership for South Africa - their highest of the World Cup so far. We know they are capable of collapses, however.

A full toss from Ellyse Perry and Laura Wolvaardt drives it through extra cover for four.

Alana King is one of two Australia players not picked up in the inaugural Women's Premier League. I think the feeling is India, like in the men's IPL, produce their own spinners. Even Sarah Glenn didn't get picked up and she's fourth in the world.
Here comes spinner Alana King. She was the first woman to take a hat-trick in The Hundred last year.
Tazmin Brits hits another boundary straight over the King towards long-on.
South Africa have build a very good a partnership now.
There's a big appeal for lbw from Annabel Sutherland's last ball but Australia don't go for the review because they think it would have been too high.
Watching the review it would have been umpire's call so they would have kept the review but not got the wicket.

That was nailed at mid-wicket by Laura Wolvaardt and it's just gone in and gone out. It was a reaction catch, and should have been the breakthrough for Australia.
Laura Wolvaardt pulls the ball hard to mid-wicket and it is straight at Georgia Wareham, who drops the catch!
Annabel Sutherland throws her hands in the air. That could be costly.

It's been a steady start by South Africa's batters. They will feel if they can get to 140 or 150 they will be in the game here.
Spinner Ashleigh Gardner comes on and her first ball is hit over mid-on for four by Tazmin Brits.
But Brits is not done yet. She hits Gardner's slower ball through mid-wicket for another four!
A very profitable over for South Africa to conclude the powerplay.

Both these players want width, they want space to put their hands through the ball. What the Australian seamers have done really well is use the crease, they've come wide of the crease and not given either them any room to work with, cramping them up, and they're struggling to score.

South Africa don't have as deep a batting line up as Australia so they don't have the luxury of being able to lose wickets in the manner we saw England did earlier against India.

As expected for the host team, the ground is now absolutely packed and the atmosphere is amazing.
There's a band playing and they've been going ALL day, keeping the energy going.
The crowd probably weren't expecting such a good start from their team either, but South Africa have really taken the attack to the Aussies and every run is greeted like it's the winning one.
This is also my first time seeing the great Australians playing in person, and I've got to admit they've not been as good as I was expecting (yet).
The ball is handed back to seamer Megan Schutt. She's not offering any width and the South Africa batters don't have any space to score.
The teams are playing on a new wicket that favours seamers.
Schutt's final ball is hit by Laura Wolvaardt, beats the diving fielder at cover and races away to the boundary.

It feels like an occasion today, there's a really good crowd at this venerable old ground - it's first Test match was in 1889.

Brits throws the kitchen sink at it, it's not particularly convincing but she is the aggressor and it gets the job done.
Another boundary for South Africa.
Darcie Brown bowls full and Tazmin Brits gets a edge past the diving slip and Alana King can't cut it off.
It's a profitable over for South Africa adding nine runs to the scoreboard.
There's only two runs off that over and South Africa haven't performed how they would like in the powerplay.
The St George's band is in the crowd and sang all through the England game earlier.

We saw some fantastic bowling for Renuka Singh Thakur, but what she did well was pitch the ball up. It's not what Megan Schutt has done so far, that last delivery was a little more like it. She's not quite got her line right, but I think if she does that's when we'll see the danger.
There's a beautiful pinky yellow sky in St George's Park, Gqeberha tonight. It looks like the sky is on fire. It's quite breathtaking.
There's five precious dot balls in Darcie Brown's over and on comes Ellyse Perry for her first spell of the night.
First boundary for South Africa! It is down the leg side by Megan Schutt, and it glances off Laura Wolvaardt for four leg byes
The next ball was short outside the off stump and Wolvaardt hit it straight to deep third. Two boundaries in the first over is a good start.
