England have been dominant so far but it's a young inexperienced team and I just hope they don't bottle it.

Australia were superb in the field. India weren't. I reckon that's where this one was won and lost.

  4. 'We love the big moments'published at 16:38 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2023

Australia captain Meg Lanning: "It was one of the best wins I've been involved in. To fight back from the position we were in. We didn't play our best cricket but I was so proud of the girls.

"India were coming hard at us so we knew it was going to be hard to defend and it came down to the wire.

"There were a couple of times I got a bit nervous. But we knew we had to hang in there. We got a little but of luck with the Kaur wicket but we just had to hang in there and we got over the line.

"We stayed calm and composed. We didn't panic out there and we love the big moments. We love playing the big teams and that will happen again in the final."

[On England's semi-final with South Africa tomorrow] "I won't be watching, but some of the girls might be. It will be a 'cruisey' day tomorrow where we switch off from the cricket and then back at it for the final."

Kaur was batting brilliantly and looked to be leading India into Sunday's final. Until this moment of poor fortune...

  6. 'We couldn't have been unluckier'published at 16:33 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2023

India's skipper Harmanpreet Kaur: "We couldn't have been unluckier than that. This is not what we were expecting.

"The way I got run out, you can't be unluckier. I am happy we took this to the last ball. We discussed we wanted to fight and the result wasn't in our favour.

"Even after losing the first two wickets, we knew we had a good batting line up and I should give credit for Jemimah Rodrigues, she batted well today and I was happy to see it.

"We fought in this tournament and played really good cricket and still got to the semi-finals.

"We gave some easy catches away and when you want to win you have to take those chances. We did misfield today and we can only learn from these areas and not make these mistakes again."

India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur sounds fairly emotional in her post-match interview. It was a rollercoaster of a semi-final. One which she was at the very heart of.

Australia are the best sporting team in the world at the minute. They know how to work as a business. But for the wider game for women's cricket I want it to be somebody different.

  9. 'Outstanding captaincy to bring Brown back on'published at 16:27 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2023

Australia opener Beth Mooney speaking to Sky Sports: "We knew if we grabbed the momentum and got a couple of wickets we could wrestle our way back into the game.

"I think Meg [Lanning] made an outstanding call to bring Darcie Brown into the game, unbelievable captaincy and obviously the bowlers held their composure.

"We got a bit of luck, there were a few inside edges that also went for four from them so we were due a bit of luck."

  12. 'We are best with our backs against the wall'published at 16:23 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2023

Australia player of the match Ashleigh Gardner: "Bowling the last over I reckon my heart-rate was 190. That shows the way we fight as a team. We probably weren't in a winning position but when our back is against the wall that's what we do best. The fight shows the character that is in this team.

"It's being really clear on what we wanted to do. For me, with ball in hand, it was just trying to hit the wicket. Those final stages were in our favour.

"It's always nice spending time in the middle. I felt really confident coming into this game. I have to take it into the next game and hopefully we're winning in the final."

As promised, here's a replay of the wicket that swung the game dramatically back in Australia's favour.

    Poor luck, or lazy running?

Five runs, just five runs in it.

How many misfields did we see in the first innings from India?

If India had been able to do the poor things better they would've won. It was such close margins.

Australia haven't won that game for me. India were so sloppy in the field. They were so in control of that run chase and the wicket of Harmanpreet Kaur was so unlucky.
