It seems really really unlikely. If only they'd got off to a better start in the powerplay.

  2. SA 75-3published at 13.2 overs

I have criticised South Africa's batting but this Australia attack has a bit of everything, doesn't it?

This was the wicket of Kapp by Gardner earlier.

  3. SA 73-3published at 13 overs

Need 84 more runs from 42 balls

Aaaaand the six is followed by two dots. It is those run-less deliveries that will cost South Africa.

Still, 14 runs from the over...

That's immense! Ecstasy and joy unbound. Is this the over that will kickstart the attack?

    That's BIG!

A superb shot from Laura Wolvaardt. The crowd believes again.

  6. SA 67-3published at 12.4 overs

Tahlia McGrath bowls a second no-ball in her over! South Africa failed to make the most of the first free hit.

What can Wolvaardt do with this one?

I think South Africa's story is amazing from losing their first game to making it to the semi-finals. As Firdose Moonda said before the game, they've already won.

There has not been enough of this...

  9. SA 59-3published at 12 overs

Need 98 more runs from 48 balls

Chloe Tryon cuts into a gap but this relentless, party-spoiling Australian unit, a team of Stormtroopers dressed in yellow, swoop in to prevent four runs.

Laura Wolvaardt has played some nice shots but only has 30 from 32 balls. Not quick enough.

Meg Lanning can turn to anyone in this side and they'll do a good job for her.

It has all been a bit tame from South Africa with the bat...

  12. SA 55-3published at 11 overs

Need 102 more runs from 54 balls

Well Chloe Tryon was going to have to play a big hand in this innings for South Africa to win. She has nine overs to do something incredibly special.

Not a great start after the drinks break however now Chloe Tryon comes to the crease and she can get them out of this.

There was never really a run there.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10.4 overs

Luus run out (Mooney) 2 (SA 54-3)

This is all very disappointing. A comical mix-up with the running now follows this stodgy start.

Sune Luus has to sacrifice herself. Laura Wolvaardt shakes her head.

  16. SA 52-2published at 10.1 overs

Tahlia McGrath is on to bowl the 11th over.

You guessed it. She starts with a dot ball.

What South Africa are doing for women's cricket is something else and it won't settle in for weeks and months afterwards. They still have some power hitting to come with Chloe Tryon.

From here it's going to be some effort. If Australia start feeling the pressure then it could be different.

What South Africa can't do is let the opportunity pass them by.

  19. SA 52-2published at 10 overs

    Target 157

The worm shows South Africa are 21 runs behind Australia. South Africa are 52 for 2 after 10 overs. At the same stage Australia were 73 for 1.Image source, BBC Sport

Yet again, even with the boundary, Australia keep a lid on the scoring.

We're halfway through and South Africa need another 105 runs.

    Big ask.

  20. SA 50-2published at 9.2 overs

Laura Wolvaardt has got to go for it now.

This is too short from spinner Georgia Wareham and the stylish South African right-hander pulls the ball for four.
