That's it then after a successful ODI series for England - albeit one that ended with a defeat for Jos Buttler's side.

You can read all about Bangladesh's impressive 50-run win in Joe Rindl's report.

The 50-over stuff might be over but England's winter is not over just yet. They still have another three T20s to play in Bangladesh.

We'll be back for the first of those on Thursday morning. Do join us again then!

  2. 'Another exciting series'published at 14:02 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2023

More Buttler on the forthcoming T20 series: "It's sure to be another really exciting series. Again, in conditions that we'll find challenging. But we look forward to the T20 format, it's a format we enjoy and we look forward to those games."

  3. 'Bowling effort was fantastic'published at 13:59 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2023

Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal: "We were really looking forward to this game and we wanted to finish the series on a high. Still disappointed that we lost the series, we take a lot of pride in the ODI format and especially when we are playing at home.

"The first game, going from 150-2 to 207 all out, that was a killer. Congratulations to England for the way they played, I thought some of the individual performances were brilliant - Adil Rashid was excellent throughout the series.

"Today I still thought it was not the best game that we've played. From the position we were in, we should have scored 270 or 270 but the bowling effort was fantastic."

On World Cup preparations: "There is a lot of room to improve. We are a decent team, a good team in ODIs but there is a lot of room for improvement.

"When we go overseas and play in different conditions, we have to challenge ourselves more to do better."

  4. 'Ahmed has something special about him'published at 13:57 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2023

Player of the series, England leg-spinner Adil Rashid: "I felt good today and throughout the series. Not just me, but I thought we bowled well as a collective unit in these conditions so credit to the bowling group."

On Rehan Ahmed: "He's got something special about him. It was his first game but he showed he's got there and hopefully, as times goes on, he'll go from strength to strength."

On the different challenges of bowling at different grounds: "You adjust to conditions and the ground as we go and have a game plan and I try to do that and stick to it."

  5. 'We showed a lot of character'published at 13:54 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2023

Player of the match, Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan: "We have been very good in the last five or seven years at home and unfortunately we lost this series but we can take a lot from what we've shown in this series. I thought we showed a lot of character, we could have easily lost 3-0.

"We thought we were 20-30 runs short but our bowlers talked about stepping up and doing a job for the team and all of the bowlers contributed."

  6. 'Series will be really valuable to us'published at 13:52 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2023

England captain Jos Buttler: "We wanted desperately to win the game today but we're delighted to win the series.

"We were quite happy with the score we were chasing and we got off to a fantastic start but Bangladesh fought back really well.

On Sam Curran batting at five: "It was a great opportunity for Sam to get up the order, he's someone with huge potential with the bat. So having won the series and with Will Jacks being injured, it was a chance to get Sam up the order."

On the series: "I think we got everything from the series that we wanted. We wanted to play on wickets like this and the two that we played on in Dhaka. It's great preparation for us and great to challenge ourselves in these conditions, which I've said, are the conditions we find the hardest.

"I think it will be really valuable for us to reflect on this, what we did well and areas that we can improve. We can take that into our game and improve on this building into the World Cup later in the year."

I’m predicting Stokes coming back from retirement and the starting XI looking like this: Bairstow, Malan, Root, Brook, Butler, Stokes, Livingstone, Curran, Rashid, Archer, Wood

    Jack, Stourbridge

Jon Hayes: A great series, but that game was numbing - when my wife told me the 11, I liked it a lot. However, experimenting with the ball re bowlers, deliveries & lines & lengths; Curran up the order, no; Vince usual; & we seemed to treat it like a net session.

Interesting to see a number of your teams putting Joe Root at four.

He's batted at three for the vast majority of his white-ball career - certainly for England - but with Dawid Malan having done well and no one established at four, it'll be interesting to see if it is something Jos Buttler and Matthew Mott choose to look at before the World Cup.

A good performance from Bangladesh as they restrict England to 196 in the chase of 247.

Shakib Al Hasan was the star but all the bowlers played their part.

As for England, they'll be disappointed to lose the game but they've won the series and took the opportunity to experiment a bit today. They'll hope to benefit from that in the long term.

Very good return catch from Mustafizur, taken at the second attempt. Bangladesh avoid the clean sweep.

Woakes was looking to hit it back down the ground, it wasn't quite there for the drive and he thumped it back at the bowler.

Sliding down leg. Archer survives and on we go.

Shakib Al Hasan ends with 4-35 from his 10 overs, to go with 75 with the bat. Not a bad day's works from him.

Mark Thomas: England's World Cup 50-over side won’t be this. But in my opinion this is what it should be: Bairstow, Duckett, Malan, Root, Brook, Buttler, Moeen, Curran, Rashid, Wood, Archer. Then back-ups: Hales, Woakes, Jordan.

  18. Eng 195-9published at 42 overs

Need another 52 off 48 balls

It turns into a very productive over for England as Archer drills Ebadot through extra cover for four more.

Bangladesh won't be concerned just yet but that's a little reminder that they've still got work to do to wrap this up.

    Eng 189-9

Chris Woakes has decided it's go time but after smoking the previous ball through the covers for four, he mistimes the next and sends it high towards long-off.

Tamim Iqbal came around and has to dive to reach. Tough chance and it goes down.

  20. Eng 184-9published at 41 overs

Need another 63 off 54 balls

What could've been another boundary and a bit of moment for England, turns into a wicket and Bangladesh on the brink of victory.

Jofra Archer is in at 11 for England. He and Woakes exchange singles but it's the steepest of uphill struggles for the visitors now.
