Not this time, Matt. He'll have another shot before lunch, though.
Just a couple off the Ben Stokes over but just the angle he creates with his action makes his a slightly different proposition for the Australia batters.

An England all-rounder against an Australia great on a Saturday afternoon at Edgbaston. It couldn’t happen again, could it?

Has Broad finally won? Or has Marais Erasmus just given in? He's worn him down!
Not the ideal start for Ben Stokes. It's a no-ball first up.
He gets through two legal deliveries but England manage to convince umpire Erasmus that the ball needs to be changed.
Could a new (24ish overs old) ball make the difference?!

It's an obvious thing to say but England would love one of these wickets before lunch. Khawaja and Smith have both looked very settled, very composed.

This has been one of the much-debated topics of the summer. How much can he bowl? It's so important that he can.
And what mode will he be in?
Oh hello, no messing about. A quick warm-up and Ben Stokes is coming on to bowl.
Cue big cheers from the Edgbaston crowd. Can the England skipper nip another one out before lunch?
Good over from Moeen Ali to Steve Smith.
A couple of balls turn quite some way but are a touch too short to really trouble the batter.
Smith's firm back-foot punch looks to be headed for the boundary but a brilliant diving stop from Zak Crawley in the covers saves four.

Ben Stokes is warming up with half an hour to go before lunch.

Steve Smith is batting like he's just planning on settling in for the day. He is not going to change a thing.
He's thinking low-risk and is not bothered about that.
Lovely shot down the ground from Steve Smith but Stuart Broad chases it down like a man possessed and flicks it back just before the rope to save a run.
Ollie Robinson then challenges Usman Khawaja from over the wicket. The left-hander is forced to put away the more attacking shots we've seen in recent overs.
Usman Khawaja, now on 36*, is on a score twice as high as his career average before this innings in England, which was just 17.78.

That just shot along the ground! Khawaja has done very well to keep that out.

Usman Khawaja is down the ground to Moeen Ali again and hits over mid-off for four.
Ben Stokes was the fielder at mid-off and he didn't pick it up at all. It still would have taken some catching but Stokes has taken some stunners in his time.
So close! Last ball of the over from Moeen and is practically scoots along the ground! Khawaja just gets his bat down in time and gives a smile. Nearly.

It's gone a little quiet around Edgbaston now. It was absolutely ticking after the Marnus Labuschagne wicket.

piemontemio: Following today from Perugia. Yesterday was a seven hour drive, so TMS was with me all the way. This was my reward after the long drive...
Looks terrible...

That wasn't short at all. Khawaja is just trusting the bounce and that really shows how there's no pace in the pitch.
When he gets in his zone, he can bat for a long time.
There is a smattering of applause from the Edgbaston crowd as Steve Smith's mistimed pull shot runs out to fine leg for a single that takes Australia to 50.
Usman Khawaja then ends the over with a superb pull shot. It wasn't even that short from Ollie Robinson but crunched it away in front of square.

In overs five to 15 England found more than three times as much swing as Australia did at the same stage yesterday. The length has also been very different, with England pitching about five feet fuller than Australia did.
