I can just see Joe making something happen and getting one here.
Cameron Green mechanically and methodically rehearses a defensive shot between deliveries from Ollie Robinson.
A thick-ish edge off the final delivery of Robinson's over allows the all-rounder to keep the strike.
No sign of Ben Stokes just yet. Joe Root has the ball in hand.

Ben Stokes is warming up.
Cometh the hour?
Ollie Robinson round the wicket to Usman Khawaja.
The Aussie opener blocks his first two balls before swivelling on his back foot to a delivery a fraction short from the England seamer and guides it down to the fielder at deep square leg for a single.

Kevin Ticehurst: What is currently going through my head is that edge that Bairstow and Root just didn’t move for on Khawaja edge. That is what’s going to cost us dearly!
Ben Stokes gets England's players into a huddle on the boundary at Edgbaston before purposefully leading his charges back out on to the field.
Stokes also does a few loosening up exercises hinting he'll be bowling at some point.
Ollie Robinson has ball in hand for the time being, though.

Daniel Cooper: Is it too early to pray for rain?
Marcus: That declaration was a brave gamble which didn't pay off.
John: IF we lose this, it’s the missed catches behind the stumps and the no-ball wicket that’s cost us, not the declaration.

There is always a twist. Always.
It's five wickets and they can fall really quickly.
We could possibly frame this Test as one of Aesop's Fables in the way England and Australia have approached it, especially in the second innings. It is starting to feel like the tortoise and the hare.

Different circumstances but before Christmas England played that incredible Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi.
In that match, Pakistan started the final session needing 86 runs with five wickets left.
England won by 74 runs.

England are going to need five very good balls here, because the Aussies are batting calmly and conventionally. The run rate means they can afford to wait for the bad ball to score.

Tom Byrne: Finding it hard to relax and enjoy my holiday in Seville at the moment. Come on England!
James: If Australia pull this off people will question the declaration, Bairstow drops and Ali’s finger. But the real issue is the attack lacking some out n out pace to make things happen. Situation is begging for a Mark Wood spell.
ZS-NVB: Looking very ominous this. We haven't bowled well enough.
Cameron Green has been decidedly more expansive than Usman Khawaja thus far.

Am I right that if all remaining Australia partnerships get the same as first innings, England win by 1 run?
John
Khawaja looking tired. I sense a collapse if we can get him out in the next couple of overs
Jamie, Ipswich
Looks like the 40-50 runs chucked away by the declaration is going to cost England the match!
Nick
Those runs weren't guaranteed, Nick...

You don't always need noise for atmosphere.
I think tea has come at a good time for England.

I've just put money on Australia to win and on a draw. I also had Marnus Labuschagne to top score in the first innings by the way...
Dominic
Cameron Green happy to see off a maiden from Joe Root before the tea interval. England need the break more than Australia to regroup, you sense.
Australia need 98 runs to win. England need five wickets.

It is very quiet at the moment at Edgbaston.
Joe Root continues.
Not exactly a vintage knock by Usman Khawaja, but an extremely valuable half-century for his side brought up a little earlier.
