The overheads are not quite as juicy as England hope, so I'd rather be on the batting side at the moment. Australia have enough time to just play simple critic - they don't have to be overly aggressive.

For the players this morning will have gone on forever. Everyone has been calm. But when the action starts it will be tense.

huwjc: I’ve never understood the reason for the delay between deciding the weather is fine to play and actually getting out & playing. Surely everyone’s ready to go - why the 45 minute wait?

Letting the outfield dry out would be my guess.

It is warming up which from an England perspective is a good thing. A bit of humidity should help the ball swing around, although the ball is 30-odd overs old.

Confirmation from the umpires that play will begin at 14:15 BST.

Umpires Ahsan Raza and Marais Erasmus are making their way onto the outfield for a pitch inspection.

There's some blue skies breaking through the grey clouds overhead. Though I think England will want those clouds to remain.

Some of the Australia players are warming up on the outfield. A few England players are starting to emerge too.
