Stuart Broad will bowl the next over. No surprise there. What has he got in store for us today?
Our very own Matthew Henry gave Broad the nickname of Mr Ashes last night. Read that here.

It was pretty gun barrel straight from James Anderson. I thought there might be a little bit more movement for him. England will be keen to get rid of Scott Boland quickly here.

I think Australia have been taken aback by the way England have played so I wonder what is in their heads about how they approach this.

I would want Scott Boland to stick around for as long as possible and he scored quite quickly yesterday. That is because of the ultra-attacking fields that Ben Stokes sets.
Target 281
A few hands on heads from the England fielders as Jimmy Anderson nearly gets the ball through Usman Khawaja.
However, the ball comes off the inside edge, through square leg and Australia get two - the first runs of the day.
Scott Boland will be on strike for the start of the next over.

There are people running everywhere below the stands to try and get to their seats. One lady says to me “I’ve got to have a fag before this starts…”
Target 281
It's looking quite bright now as Jimmy Anderson runs in to bowl to Usman Khawaja.
On the money but calmly defended on the back foot by Khawaja. We're off.

I'm not sure about Moeen Ali being able to bowl. He's been awkwardly warming up and doesn't look quite right. He's coating that troublesome finger in sand or soil. He's looking at it all the time, and his body language does not look good.

Paul Cotterill: There is only one question in England for the next 10 minutes: "Will it swing?"
Usman Khawaja and nightwatchman Scott Boland walk out for Australia. They need another 174 runs to win.
Jimmy Anderson will bowl the first over. England need seven wickets to win.

I’ve just asked three former England players their predictions in the commentary box. All three said England win.
Does that settle your nerves?
Here come the rest of the England bowlers to turn their arms over before play starts.
We're almost ready for the off and Jerusalem starts playing over the Edgbaston sound system.
Get ready, this could be quite the ride...

I think the conditions are key and Jimmy Anderson is going to be key.
Swing, experience. He hasn't made much of an impact so far so I'm waiting for him to come to the party.

We debated the England declaration on day one, but had they not declared and Australia would be looking at chasing 330 in what remains of day five we might be talking about today being a bore draw.

A first chant of “Barmy Army, Barmy Army” has just gone around the ground before play has even begun.
We've still got a few minutes until the first ball goes down but Moeen Ali has just come out to warm up and gets a hearty ovation from the England fans.
It could be some atmosphere at Edgbaston this afternoon!

Will Green: The strong desire for the rain to stop but for the clouds to very much stay is something it would be hard to explain to non-cricket fans.
Sir Alastair Cook
Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special
There have been a few occasions where Australia have bottled close games. You think back to Headingley in 2019 as an example of that. So if they do get the 170-odd runs to win here they'll take lot mentally from that. Otherwise the momentum will be hard to turn.
Thanks, Tom.
Less than 15 minutes until they're due to start and England will be delighted to see that there is still plenty of cloud cover.
They might like a tad more, even. Crucially, though, it is still dry and the wait for the first ball of this crucial day five is almost over!
Thank you for all your cricket children's TV shows. Sorry we couldn't post them all, there were just too many!
But, that's all Foakes (sorry). It is time to focus on the cricket.
Here is Sam Drury to guide you through the start of the session.
