What a brilliant effort.
Ben Stokes is planning to give Stuart Broad the new ball, but gives him a few balls with the old ball to get himself loose.
Nathan Lyon hooks a bouncer from Broad to Stokes at square leg and despite a brilliant one-handed dive the England captain is not quite able to cling on.
Stokes got a hand to it, almost got it at the second attempt with two hands. But then spilled it on landing.
His head is in his hands.

Some smiles are returning in the Australian dressing room.
Pat Cummins is trying to win this game basically by himself.
And another.
Pat Cummins opens his shoulders and wallops Joe Root back over his head for another maximum.

That keeps some spice in it. Australia are still going for this.
43 to win
Pat Cummins has gone downtown and hammered a six off Joe Root.
Australia are coming out fighting.
Joe Root continues with the old ball after drinks.

I have 10 minutes left at work and I can't deal with this - COME ON ENGLAND!

Feeling sick with nerves! Shaking with adrenaline and no idea what is going to happen....welcome back the ashes. You have been missed. Ben you beauty, lead us to victory please.

Here's that quite brilliant reaction from Joe Root to dismiss Alex Carey caught and bowled.
Phew, put the kettle on. Or pour yourself considerably something stronger.

What's the latest play will go on for today? Is 7pm the absolute cut off?
Oliver from Cambridge
Nope, they'll play until the overs are bowled unless bad light or rain prevents it.
A bouncer from Ben Stokes to Pat Cummins sees the Aussie skipper fall backwards to the ground on to his back. He gives Stokes a broad toothy grin.

Serious props to Joe Root with the ball today. He may only be a part-timer but with England's actual spinner injured he's stepped up and delivered at the back end of this innings. Add in his batting and if England do take this home he has to be PotM.

Roooooot! I could kiss him!

How many 'Rooooooooot' texts did you just get?

Plenty, James, but keep them coming, I say!

Get Macca here. Hey Jude is being belted out by the Hollies.

It's moments like that that swing a match.
The Hollies stands serenades Joe Root after that over. A vital, vital wicket.
Having seen the replay, Joe Root dropped it briefly but managed to just keep it within his grasp.

England could have taken the new ball but everything Ben Stokes does…

That was an exceptional catch.
