Sam Drury and Callum Matthews
Another six followed for Wood but his innings only lasted eight balls.
He did add an invaluable 24 runs though.
That left England 142-7 at lunch and people were very depressed, thinking that the Ashes had gone.
Mark Wood had other ideas.
He hit the first three balls of the afternoon session for six, four and then six.
Chris Woakes came in and attacked, looking to pull every single ball.
He eventually edged through to Alex Carey to fall for a chaotic 10 off 10 balls.
Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali then put on 44 for the seventh wicket before the latter was caught pulling, having just survived playing the same shot balls earlier, for 21 off 46 balls.
Jonny Bairstow followed in the fifth over of the day as his rash drive was well held in the slips.
Joe Root was caught at slip off the second ball of the day.
It led to plenty of questions from our readers' about what Root averages the following morning after being not out at stumps.
CricViz have worked that out as 25.90 for us, which, considering Root's Test average was 50.43 going into this game, is quite a fall.

Amrul Choudhury: Can we not ignore the fact that England only made a paltry 237? The way we are listening to praise it sounds like they made 337!
Here you go, Gareth!

This pitch isn't do quite as much as it was doing yesterday with the overhead conditions.
Aus 29-1; lead by 55
Two singles from Stuart Broad's over and time for a break.
Australia have extended their lead to 55 runs in the opening hour of their innings.
They've also lost David Warner to Broad again.
Stuart Broad is back.
This is probably going to be the last over before tea.

That was clever bowling from Mark Wood.

Really clever bowling from Mark Wood.
He is initially quite close to the umpire, but then leaps wide at the last second of his approach.
It draws the drive from Marnus Labuschagne but it just misses the edge.
Hands on head from the England fielders.

Do you only print comments that praise England and ignore ones that criticise England?
Gareth, Oxford
No. Send in some critical thoughts if you like, Gareth.
This is what David Warner is watching...

Just a single from Chris Woakes' over.
David Warner is staring intently at an iPad.
If you've not worked out how to play Stuart Broad by now, you probably never will Davey.
Someone is throwing an inflatable paddling pool around in the crowd.
A sentence that you would literally only ever read about a crowd at the cricket.
We're not going to see Stuart Broad yet.
Chris Woakes is going to continue.
A maiden from Mark Wood.
I can see Stuart Broad getting in Ben Stokes' ear. Is he going to come back on?
But Mark Wood did club 24 off eight balls and England only ended up being 26 behind.
Happy days.
