Partnerships in cricket can be so valuable. It can really take the wind out of the sails of the bowling side. So that Joe Root wicket was big for England

    Thanks, Callum.

    For those wondering.

Play in the final session can continue to 19:30. Obviously, with the light and weather around it remains to be seen if we make that far.

I'm going to be honest, it looks pretty grim at Old Trafford again.

The rain is setting in and it has gone misty.

The groundstaff are all walking off to get some shelter.

This looks like being a fairly lengthy delay.

Marnus Labuschagne has had a pretty lean series, but this century could potentially save this Test for Australia and mean they retain the Ashes.

He was gritty yesterday but he played some really lovely shots today, particularly off Joe Root.

The hover cover is now on the pitch but the ground staff aren't rolling out the side sheets at the moment.

Typically it's now raining. The hover cover is moving over the pitch.

The hover cover is being brought out.

I think it's a precaution, and it isn't going on the actual wicket at the moment.

It goes to show one ball can turn things around. This whole Ashes series has been edge of your seat stuff and it continues here today.

    Time for a break.

A very high-octane end to the session.

Good decision from Joel Wilson, there's no bat.

    Cameron Green survives.

Cam Green has punched gloves with Mitchell Marsh. He thinks he's fine.

It's very close to the bat.

It's going to be a feather if there is one.

Has Moeen Ali got Cameron Green caught bat-pad at slip?

    England think yes.

    Joel Wilson says no.

Joe Root tells Ben Stokes to send it upstairs.
