    Lead by 168 runs

If I can speculate about that little mid-pitch meeting (and there is pure speculation on my behalf) I suspect it might be something akin to a warning about where the Australia batters should and shouldn't be running during this session.

The Aussies have three handy spinners who will be looking to take advantage of any rough later in the game.

Sophie Ecclestone with the first over after lunch, and just one run off the bat of Beth Mooney from it.

It is obvious from this women's Ashes Test that the players do not play enough red ball cricket. Why, I do not know, but I would not mind betting the suits and ties have something to say about it. If women's cricket is to progress, we need more and more red ball games and less of the white ball. In both the men's and women's game, all the so-called progress is in the white ball game while the red ball game gets left behind. It's a very sad state of affairs.

A slight delay as there's a bit of a conflab between the umpires and Australia batters Beth Mooney and Jess Jonassen before we get under way.

Not sure what that's about, but the conversation seemed quite intense.

I definitely think that is England's morning.

It actually now forces Australia to make a decision in the next session. They'll have to bat at a high rate, they can't just go along at three an over.

That will bring England back into the game too.

That brings an the Q&A with Katherine Sciver-Brunt on TMS to an end. Thanks for all your questions.

The umpires are out on the field and England's players are just having a huddle on the boundary.

We should be back under way shortly.

Will we see it? I don't think so. Would I love to see it? Yes. But women's cricket is going into the white ball because it's the most watched. To keep the sport thriving it needs bums on seats and to keep entertaining. The stats show people are more entertained by white-ball cricket. We are dictated by numbers and figures regardless of what we like and prefer. That's why Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes are trying to make it sexy again in the men's game!

Test cricket is the be all and end all for me. It's a ride and an emotional journey. A test of everything. I liked being mentally and physically ground to the bone. I loved giving my all, trying hard, challenges and people doubting me. I loved helping and supporting people. Every time I come on to bowl it's to help my team, not get a wicket for me. I couldn't care less about that.

It is a thing of the past, I think. Especially if you choose do everything. Sophie Ecclestone is going to say 'yes' to everything. England, franchises, Lancashire and Fair Break. You end up at home for two weeks a year. When I was Sophie's age I was the same. It's probably different for Nat, who will prioritise England, and where she can help her family after that. She can say 'no' to things. It's gruelling. It can be savage. Your body needs a break. People who don't live in Loughborough, where you are a lot of the time with England, have a lot of travel as well. There are decisions to make if you want to protect your mental health.

Next question for Katherine, who played cricket for nearly two decades, askes whether a career as long as hers is now a thing of the past?

It's obvious. The Ashes against Australia at the WACA. I loved that pitch. I miss bowling fast - I used to bowl fast. I had three back surgeries from it and had to turn into a skilful bowler. Watching Lauren Filer today is hard because that's how I used to feel. We had a Test at the WACA where my disc was hanging out my spine and I nonetheless charged. There's pace, bounce and fire at the WACA. It's why I joined Perth Scorchers, just to play there.

I am representing England and I am proud and passionate. All you do day in day out as an athlete you strive for perfection. I have a lot of sympathy at people showing their emotions. It is life and death when you play cricket. It's not just a game for a laugh. People who show no emotion and smile when they get hit for six, I just don't get it.

I spent every minute of every day playing with Natalie. I set high standards for myself, not just Nat. I think as players I encouraged her to be better as a player. You have to keep your cool no matter who they are. But someone always has to get the grief, because that's how human emotion works. Generally Nat would bear the brunt of that from me! Because she's so patient and calm she would get it from me. I'd be thinking a bit later 'Sorry, I was a bit mean there!' We never fight because she is the way she is. That's why we are together. She's perfect for me, and vice versa.
