This would now have to be England's highest run chase in a women's ODI.

  2. Aus 255-7published at 49 overs

A good over from Lauren Bell but it ends with a boundary, heaved leg side by Georgia Wareham.

Nine from it. One over to go...

Georgia Wareham, who has played 23 ODIs, is yet to lose a game in the format.

    Australia's lucky charm...?

  4. Aus 246-7published at 48 overs

Georgia Wareham is in at nine for Australia and gets off the mark with a boundary.

Not much control, though, it's an outside edge that runs away past short third. Australia will take them.

The run rate has not got out of hand, around five runs an over. England just need to hit the bad balls and rotate the strike.

The ball has started to turn so you either get right forward or right back.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 47.4 overs

    Jonassen b Ecclestone 30 (Aus 240-7)

    Sophie Ecclestone has her wicket!

Jess Jonassen backed away, trying to give herself room to hit over the off side but Ecclestone continued to target the stumps.

So when Jonassen misses, Ecclestone hits. Decent turn for the spinner, too.

  7. Aus 238-6published at 47.1 overs

    Now Australia have a boundary!

Jess Jonassen heaves the ball over wide mid-on, it's into the gap and bounces away for four.

  9. Aus 234-6published at 47 overs

    Jonassen 25, Mooney 72

Clever bowling from Lauren Bell with plenty of slower balls, forcing the Australia batters to generate the pace on the ball.

Still no boundary for Australia, seven from the over. England will take that at this point.

Both the men’s and women’s teams want to be the best in the world but both have been so sloppy in the field this summer. You can forgive missing one or two chances, but five plus every game is unacceptable at this level.

The players should have realised now that it is a slow wicket.

It is not going to elude anyone with sharp spin or seam so slower balls and slower-ball bouncers are the way to go. Half-volleys and width would be where the batters cash in.

I think we will see Australia accelerate now to try and get up and around 260.

  13. Aus 227-6published at 46 overs

Better over for Australia but still no boundaries.

Instead, it's some good running between the wickets - plus an overthrow as England get a little sloppy in the field - that allow them to run three twos in Sophie Ecclestone's over.

Jess Jonassen showed a bit of inventiveness with a clever paddle sweep as well.

What will Australia be targeting from here?

Two balls later, Lauren Bell produced a beauty that angled in and then jagged away to peg back Annabel Sutherland's off stump.

Not much you can do with that one...

England are in a decent position thanks to two wickets in an over from Lauren Bell not too long ago.

The first of them saw Ash Gardner superbly caught by Nat Sciver-Brunt...

England are rattling through their overs now. The lack of boundaries for Australia is helping that, too.

Another over down from Nat Sciver-Brunt and only four singles from it.

  17. Aus 216-6published at 44 overs

Sophie Ecclestone is back and that's another excellent over for England.

Just two singles from it. Australia were trying to get after her but Ecclestone's accuracy meant they couldn't get her away.

The whole of the country wrote off England after the Test. it would be an awesome tale if they could take it to the last match.

And so far they deserve to take it down to the wire.

  19. Aus 214-6published at 43 overs

Frustrating as the drop is for England, it's still a good over from Nat Sciver-Brunt.

Just three from the over, that's a great result at this stage of the innings.

  20. dropped catch

Jonassen dropped on 13published at 42.1 overs

    Aus 211-6

And another one... A fifth drop from England in the innings and there's been a missing stumping, too.

Jess Jonassen goes back and cuts, the ball goes low towards Lauren Bell. She dives forward and initially it looks like it has bobbled around and she's caught it.

However, she indicates it hit the ground somewhere amid that bobbling. Replays confirm it.
