Kate Cross is able to walk but she is going to go off the field to get some more attention. Or maybe some pickle juice.

Charlie Dean is the replacement fielder.

Big moment, big drop, it was Ellyse Perry. Cross misfielded a few at Bristol, maybe that was playing on her mind. She looks to be okay.

    Another one goes down!

Ellyse Perry comes down the track and looks to drive through mid-off.

Kate Cross is there, and it's at a catchable height to her left. She gets both hands on it but the chance goes down.

She's down in some pain too, clutching her right calf. She's going to get some treatment.

Lauren Bell has had to struggle through different periods of form, for her today, playing on her home ground, she's probably got loads of family and friends here. She's worked a lot on her bowling.

  5. Aus 162-5published at 34 overs

The batting just keeps on coming for Australia.

Annabel Sutherland, who made a century in the Test, is now in.

She gets off the mark with a well-timed flick to the mid-wicket boundary.

England will need to keep taking wickets.

The partnership England needed breaking, Knight turns to Lauren Bell. It's a fantastic grab by Ecclestone, not as good as her one the other day.

It's a brilliant catch. The crowd rise to applause. Ecclestone judges it perfectly.

    Gardner c Ecclestone b Bell 33 (Aus 158-5)

    Breakthrough!

Heather Knight returns to Lauren Bell and she strikes with her second ball.

Ash Gardner looks to go over mid-off, but Sophie Ecclestone, who dropped the Australian on four, is able to get across and keep hold of a two-handed catch.

It's another good catch from Ecclestone and it opens the door for England again.

Australia will be targeting 300 from here and that would be a real challenge for England.

  10. Aus 158-4published at 33 overs

Good comeback from Kate Cross with just two singles added from the rest of the over.

Six an over from here would take Australia to 260, and eight an over would get them 294.

    They'll be targeting the latter.

Dot balls have been accumulating for Perry and that was a pressure release. A highly safe shot.

  13. Aus 156-4published at 32.1 overs

You wait 39 balls for a boundary and then two come along at once.

The ball after a drinks break, Ellyse Perry classily lifts Kate Cross back down the ground to move to 62.

    Lovely strike.

50 partnership between Gardner and Perry, very much required between these two, trying to get that one win needed.

  16. Aus 152-4published at 32 overs

Australia needed a boundary - it had been 39 balls since the last - and Ash Gardner delivers.

Sarah Glenn drops short, it may have been deliberate because of the long square boundaries, and Gardner crunches a cut through cover.

Lovely placement and timing from Gardner. It brings up the 50 partnership too.

Kate Cross is bowling to her field, looks to bowl very, very straight. Sometimes when she bowls straight, she gets a little bit of a leg line.

  18. Aus 144-4published at 31 overs

More tight bowling from Kate Cross, with just two singles conceded.

England have only leaked 15 runs in the last five overs.

The hosts still have five overs of Sophie Ecclestone and six from Lauren Bell remaining. They'll be hopeful of restricting Australia significantly.

  19. Postpublished at 12:56 British Summer Time 16 July 2023

This is the moment that Sophie Ecclestone dropped Ash Gardner on four.

Gardner only needed a few balls to start to make England pay.
