263 wasn't enough at Bristol, however, they did throw a lot away in the first 10 overs with the ball. They need a minimum a run a ball from here, especially with these two in. To get to 270, they need to be closer to seven an over.

    Perry 55, Gardner 25

    Three more singles for Australia.

    The squeeze continues.

The partnership between Ellyse Perry and Ash Gardner is dangerous though. It is a partnership that could lift Australia to be a really challenging target.

Kate Cross has bowled two bouncers now and that is a good option against Gardner, she is still relatively new to the crease.

  4. Aus 139-4published at 29 overs

England are just looking to build pressure at the moment.

Kate Cross concedes just two singles from her eighth over.

England are creating opportunities. Sarah Glenn creates that lbw opportunity and then she puts down another opportunity. Heather Knight is placing very strong fields. They are asking Australia if they want to hit down the ground. It is a patience game Ellyse Perry has a lot of it. England's effort is a lot more disciplined. They should be pleased with it.

  6. dropped catch

Perry dropped on 50published at 28 overs

    Arghh!

Chances are coming and going for England.

Ellyse Perry looks to drive down the ground, and Sarah Glenn, in her follow through, gets down low but spills it to her left.

The umpire didn't give it, it was just going down leg enough.

    Aus 135-4

Ooooh! It's umpire's call on leg stump.

Nothing lost, nothing gained for England.

That was closer than I expected.

Has Sarah Glenn trapped Ellyse Perry lbw?

Amy Jones likes it a lot, and England opt to send it upstairs.

It doesn't quite look right to me.

    Just joining us?

Here are the four wickets that England have picked up.

Chances have come and England have played a good game. It's a very much patient kind of game where they are letting them make the mistake. The cat and mouse game worked, now we are seeing the next phase of that. Gardner is in and needs that patience.

  12. Aus 132-4published at 27 overs

A change of pace for England as Heather Knight returns to the pace of Kate Cross.

It's a good over from the seamer with just three runs conceded.

Perry has very much been in control, the big shots are slightly more in it than they were at Bristol as there's a bit more pace in this pitch.

  15. 50 runs

50 for Perrypublished at 26 overs

Ellyse Perry could be key for Australia. Again.

She drops deep in the crease and is able to pull through square leg to bring up her half-century.

Gardner is going full mashings now, she has got her eye in. It was an easy shot for her.

  17. 6 runs

    Aus 126-4published at 25.2 overs

We were just debating if Ash Gardner was the player of the series in the office.

A few shots like this and she might have it wrapped up.

She takes one step down the pitch to Sarah Glenn and plants her beautifully over mid-on for the first six of the innings.

    Thanks Sam.

England are going well but how costly could that drop be?

I've got a feeling we're in for another cracker.

  19. Postpublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 16 July 2023

We've reached the halfway stage so it's time for us to make a change.

It's over to Callum Matthews for the remainder of this Australia innings...

  20. Aus 119-4published at 25 overs

Ashleigh Gardner goes again to end the over and this time she does make a good connection.

Well over the head of the fielder this time, a couple of bounces and over the rope.

    Will that get her going?
