Australia have to change up the tactic now. They've done this for a while now and it hasn't worked.

I’m at the back of the lower tier of the Grandstand. From here you lose the flight of the ball behind the tier above. Everyone waits for the reaction of the fans on the other side of the ground before leaping in the air.

Broad loves a contest. He is doing a good job so far to ride the bouncers. What is impressive is how clear Ben is thinking now.

To think at Headingley he was thinking clear with all that emotion going on too and he's doing the same here.

    Stokes 148, Broad 10

Ben Stokes. A calm head amongst the chaos, knocks a wide full toss into the off side for a single.

Stuart Broad then sees off the over before very deliberately pointing out to Alex Carey that he is in his crease.

    Stokes. Madness.

    80 runs needed

And again! The is a fielder on the square leg boundary but he needed to be 25 foot to reach that.

Stokes is back in business! He's just smoked it. The ability to hit that as cleanly as he does is incredible.

    It is extraordinary.

Ben Stokes has absolutely creamed that into the crowd for six! That nearly went into the Thames!

Typical BBC only showing texts supporting England... rest of UK want England to lose. Come on Australia.

    Anon

It's not intentional, we're just not getting many texts and tweets from people supporting Australia at the moment!

It's also the England and Wales cricket team, Anon.

Another bruises for Stuart Broad as a rising delivery smashes into his back. Broad then fends one into the on side just shy of the short leg fielder.

  12. Eng 279-6published at 64.4 overs

Pat Cummins is short, Ben Stokes pulls, twice goes to the deep square leg fielder and Stokes declines the run.

Stokes then toe-ends into the off side for a single to give Stuart Broad two deliveries.

Stokes is now on 135 - the score he hit at Headingley.

Spending the day at West Midland's Safari Park for out little boy's 5th birthday. Might have to go back to the car for a 'rest'!!

On a ferry between Wales and Southern Ireland... My signal is about to drop but I'm praying the game is still going when we get there!!

Stuart Broad fends off another brute of a short ball from Mitchell Starc.

He will have some bruises after this match.

  15. Eng 278-6published at 63.5 overs

Mitchell Starc goes over the wicket to his fellow left-hander Ben Stokes.

Stokes plays and misses with a hefty heave across the line. There's ironic cheers of 'howzat' as the ball goes through to Alex Carey.

Stokes then pushes a single to give Stuart Broad one ball to face.

We have just seen a shot of a moody-looking Jonny Bairstow watching the action through the Lord's changing room window.

Penny for his thoughts right now...

The most febrile atmosphere is at mid-off and mid-on when bowling from the Nursery End.

I’ve come to the Grandstand where there are lots of Aussies. You won’t be surprised to hear it’s a bit quieter here.

Regardless of the result here, Stokes is just incredible and an all time cricketing great in my opinion. In all sports, the best players rise to the big occasion and Stokes always does. Hats off to him.

The Windsors should do the right thing; abdicate the throne and appoint Benjamin Stokes as King! Benjamin the 1st!!

Stokes was so calm and collected at Headingley. The Australian's still have keep a cool head but they must be haunted a bit.

Change of bowling for Australia - here is Mitchell Starc.

  20. Eng 277-6published at 63 overs

Silly point and short leg in for Stuart Broad, who plays a well controlled defensive shot off the back foot.

The next balls is ballooned safely into a gap in the on side.

    Annnnd breathe (for now).
