Lord's rises to its feet to salute England's hero as Ben Stokes pushes into the off side and they sprint through for two.
Whatever happens this has been another superhuman effort from the skipper.
The relative lack of celebration says it all. He knows there is more work to do.
Statement from the MCC: “After this morning’s play, emotions were running high, and words were unfortunately exchanged with some of the Australian team, by a small number of Members.
"We have unreservedly apologised to the Australian Team and will deal with any Member who has not maintained the standard we expect through our disciplinary processes.
"It was not necessary to eject anyone from the ground and I am pleased to say that there was no repeat of this as the players resumed the field for this afternoon."

Australia’s management has requested the MCC investigates the incidents in the Long Room at lunch.
“ It is alleged players and staff from the Australian team were verbally abused, with some being physically contacted, as they made their way to lunch through the members area,” a statement says.

It's wonderful theatre as Broad is being very demonstrable about staying in his ground.

Never been so happy to be stuck in traffic. Meant to be taking the boys swimming. Gripping stuff.

Was supposed to be flying to Tokyo at lunchtime today. Unfortunately the flight was cancelled but silver lining means I can watch the cricket... come on England!

A huge cheer from the crowd as Stuart Broad sees off the final ball of the over.

Daughter’s end of year show at 5pm. All over by then or “I’m not feeling so good today darling” joker card in play?
Jamie from Devon (tho I'm Welsh and fully supporting the English and Wales cricket team)
Stuart Broad not helping the nerves as he goes after a short ball from Mitchell Starc, but the ball is gloved onto his back and away for a single.
There's huge applause as the 100 partnership comes up.

If Ben Stokes was in that position, he would bring everyone in.
When Stokes came out to bat England were 45-4 and they're now 292-6. What an effort.
Target 371
Good ball from Cameron Green, Ben Stokes cannot get anything on it.
Stuart Broad now on strike to Mitchell Starc next over.
Five dot balls from Cameron Green. Steve Smith demands that all the fielders come in to cut off the single.
A few do come in, but there are a few gaps for the single.
Haven't we all, Sir Alastair. Haven't we all...

The spirit of cricket - it's similar to the Mankad, there's not much skill in what Carey did. If it was bothering Australia then they should have told Bairstow he was leaving his crease too early.
Bairstow was dopey, it was foolish. He assumed that tap was enough... I've now lost my train of thought.

“Shame on you,” shouts one man in the Grandstand to Pat Cummins, as the Australia captain comes over to field.
Still not happy.
Change of bowling for Australia. Cameron Green comes into the attack.
England need 79 runs to win.

I can assure you the rest of the UK is very much behind England and Ben Stokes.
