On Finals Day everyone generally remembers the batters but Craig Overton has been spectacular with the ball.

  2. Postpublished at 14 overs

    Somerset 142-7 v Surrey 97-7

Sean Abbott hit a 34-ball hundred earlier in the competition and they need something special from him now.

He takes two to get off the mark as Craig Overton completes his four overs with 3-24. Big occasion performer.

  3. 'Not well executed by Jordan'published at 18:00 British Summer Time 15 July 2023

    Carlos Brathwaite
West Indies all-rounder on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

The ball was there but it was not good execution. That was a massive ball in the context because Surrey wanted a boundary. He was maybe beaten for pace a little bit.

  4. wicket

    WICKET Jordan c Smeed b C Overton 16published at 13.4 overs

    Somerset 142-7 v Surrey 95-7

Chris Jordan tries to repeat the shot he played from the first ball, but this one isn't quite as short and he gets too far underneath it.

Somerset's catching has been secure and Will Smeed again makes no mistake.

  5. Postpublished at 13.1 overs

    Somerset 142-7 v Surrey 93-6

Craig Overton back into the attack.

    Great batting by Surrey's skipper.

  6. Postpublished at 13 overs

    Somerset 142-7 v Surrey 87-6

After four good deliveries, Ish Sodhi drops fractionally short, allowing Chris Jordan to heave it over long-on for six.

A single to deep extra keeps the Surrey captain on strike - and Sodhi's final figures are 1-31.

  7. Postpublished at 12 overs

    Somerset 142-7 v Surrey 77-6

Following the poor opening delivery, Lewis Gregory redeems himself by conceding three singles from the rest of his second over.

Only seven overs left and Surrey need another 66 to reach the final for the first time since 2020.

There is still plenty of batting for Surrey but they need to try and just put a bit of pressure on Somerset.

Surrey have so much talent but their attitude to this run chase is appalling. Brainless cricket.

James Lowe: Surrey in this competition for nearly 20 years have had a ridiculously strong team under deliver.

The clouds are hovering and they are looking thick as well.

Skipper Chris Jordan at the crease for Surrey now.

He opts for studious defence against Ish Sodhi, who has 1-21 from three.

  13. wicket

    WICKET J Overton c C Overton b Sodhi 11published at 10.3 overs

    Somerset 142-7 v Surrey 68-6

Not really short enough for that sort of treatment, but Jamie Overton strong-arms Ish Sodhi to mid-wicket for four.

Emboldened, Overton tries to repeat the shot and is caught by......it had to be, didn't it....twin brother Craig, who has no qualms about punching the air in celebration.

  14. Postpublished at 10 overs

    Somerset 142-7 v Surrey 62-5

    Lucky.

Jamie Overton tries to club Ben Green down the ground but the ball only just clears the fingers of the fielder at mid-off before rolling away for four.

Just seven from that over - 81 off 54 balls needed.

Maybe Somerset were actually playing smart by not going after the big shots - ones and twos may be the way to go on this pitch...

That' is a big wicket. Craig Overton had a lot of work to do to catch that, but he judged it well and he has great hands.

    Carlos Brathwaite

Nine an over in the modern game is quite easy, he was in and you cannot waste that start. That shot was injudicious.

  18. wicket

    WICKET Smith c C Overton b Green 19published at 9.2 overs

    Somerset 142-7 v Surrey 57-5

A thick outside edge to third man brings Jamie Smith a couple, but he then gives his wicket away by skying down the ground where Craig Overton takes the catch.

That was nowhere near the distance Smith needed and the pressure is now on Surrey's lower middle order.

  19. Postpublished at 9 overs

    Somerset 142-7 v Surrey 55-4

Ish Sodhi loses his line after four decent deliveries and Jamie Smith is able to sweep for a welcome Surrey boundary.

Ten from that one - that's more like it for Alec Stewart's side.

  20. Postpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 15 July 2023

Jamie Smith came in at pretty much exactly this position at Canterbury in the group stage and got Surrey over the line. Everyone of a South London persuasion will hope he can do the same here.
