    Southern Vipers 45-0 - target 115

Kathryn Bryce enters the attack and is greeted by a powerful straight drive from Maia Bouchier that screeches away to the fence.

There's another four through the covers and then a late cut which also finds the rope.

Lucy Higham can't quite grasp a difficult catching chance from the final ball. It would have been a blinder.

  2. Postpublished at 3 overs

    Southern Vipers 32-0 - target 115

More tremendous batting from Danni Wyatt as she pulls Nadine de Klerk in front of square for her fourth boundary in seven balls.

Wyatt was player of the match in the semi-final eliminator against Thunder after making 76 and she's setting her side well on the way to a comfortable win in the final.

  3. Postpublished at 2 overs

    Southern Vipers 23-0 - target 115

Grace Ballinger opens up with a wide down the leg side but, like Nadine de Klerk before, plenty of swing through the air for the left-armer.

She over-compensates and Danni Wyatt takes advantage, flaying through the covers to get off the mark before hitting three further boundaries.

There's also an appeal for lbw against Wyatt turned down.

An eventful second over and just the start that Southern Vipers wanted.

  4. Postpublished at 1 over

    Southern Vipers 6-0 - target 115

A bit of early outswing for Nadine de Klerk, forcing a couple of swings and misses from Maia Bouchier from the first two balls.

Bouchier is certainly going to attack - she gets off the mark with a lofted on-drive for two and then follows that with a wonderful drive through the covers for four.

    Southern Vipers 0-0 - target 115

England internationals Danni Wyatt and Maia Bouchier stride out to the middle with a target of 115 in front of them.

Nadine de Klerk, who came into Finals Day as the competition's leading wicket-taker in 2023, to open up with the ball.

The Blaze 114-8 (20 overs) v Southern Vipers

Southern Vipers successfully chased 110 to win last year's final against Central Sparks, having restricted their opponents to 109-8 on that occasion.

In yesterday's semi-final eliminator, Danni Wyatt and Maia Bouchier put on 108 for the first wicket against Thunder. Anything similar today and this final will be over in double-quick time.

However, the outfield has been slowed by yesterday's rain so boundaries will probably be a little harder to come by.

And The Blaze come in with confidence having won all seven of their group games to get here.

I think Southern Vipers will be over the moon. We saw how Danni Wyatt and Maia Bouchier did in the eliminator yesterday in the powerplay. If they come out with the same intent, who knows?

But also, we don't how the conditions will affect things.

The Blaze can't find the boundary in the last over and the Vipers will need less than a run a ball to retain the Charlotte Edwards Cup.

The Blaze 107-7 v Southern Vipers

Georgia Elwiss' plan is to bowl slower and wider outside off stump, but she overdoes it a couple of times to give away a couple of wides.

Only six runs from the penultimate over, though, and The Blaze are going to end up well below par here.

Another one gone - Sophie Munro goes for a big heave over the leg side but misses and is bowled first ball by Georgia Adams.

Much depends on Marie Kelly now for The Blaze. She's still there on 21.

WICKET De Klerk b Dean 14published at 17 overs

The Blaze 95-6 v Southern Vipers

Nadine de Klerk's run-a-ball cameo comes to an end.

The South African gives herself some room to play out into the off side, but misses an attempted cut shot and is bowled by Charlie Dean.

The Blaze 92-5 v Southern Vipers

Potentially a catching chance for Danni Wyatt on the boundary but Nadine de Klerk survives. Not sure if it bounced just in front of Wyatt or she got to it on the full diving forward - difficult to tell.

  15. Postpublished at 16 overs

The Blaze 90-5 v Southern Vipers

Georgia Elwiss veers down the leg side with a ball that goes for five wides, but it's a tidy enough over otherwise.

The Blaze still struggling to find the boundary with the bat.

Ah - there's one! Nadine de Klerk sends a short ball from Vipers captain Georgia Adams to the fence on the leg side.

Might need a few more of those.

Five more singles to complete Charlie Dean's over and The Blaze are up to 72-5.

Linsey Smith continues where she left off yesterday - miserly accurate and the batters struggling to get her away. Five singles and a dot.

The slow left-armer ends with 1-15 from her four overs. Tremendous figures in a final.
