    Ireland 96-5 v Scotland

Chris Sole has got George Dockrell rattled.

It's relentless from Sole, hammering away back of a length, and Dockrell has a big swipe from the final ball of the over.

He gets nowhere near it, and Matt Cross whoops his excitement behind the stumps.

  2. Postpublished at 25 overs

    Ireland 94-5 v Scotland

Scotland are rattling through their overs, and at the half-way point, Ireland have crept to 94-5.

George Dockrell was slightly irritated by Mark Watt's signature 24-yard delivery in the most recent over, but you've got to be ready as a batter.

Dockrell has 11, while Curtis Campher has moved on to 28. This is the key partnership.

  3. Postpublished at 24 overs

    Ireland 91-5 v Scotland

Chris Sole is causing George Dockrell all sorts of problems at the minute.

The Irishman is hopping about, beaten for pace at least once in that over.

  4. Postpublished at 23 overs

    Ireland 89-5 v Scotland

Another tight over from Chris McBride, helped by some wonderful fielding in the covers by captain Richie Berrington - he saved a couple of boundaries with excellent diving stops.

The TV cameras pick out a Scotland fan applying plenty of suncream in the stands, which is very wise with the sun beating down.

I'm an SPF 50 man myself, and that's in Scotland.

  5. Postpublished at 22 overs

    Ireland 87-5 v Scotland

Chris Sole is bending his back, and operating at good pace, but Dockrell and Campher are able to take the singles on offer.

    Five from it.

  6. Postpublished at 21 overs

    Ireland 82-5 v Scotland

Chris McBride is bowling beautifully here.

He's just quick enough, and is nibbling it both ways, asking plenty of questions of the Irish batters.

They survive though, and Richie Berrington turns to Chris Sole from the other end.

  7. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 20.3 overs

    Ireland 81-5 v Scotland

    Another one goes down!

George Dockrell shapes to drive, but is early on the shot, and pops it up to Chris McBride in his follow-through.

McBride snatches at it, and can't get to the rebound.

He throws down the stumps in frustration, but Dockrell got back in time.

  8. Postpublished at 20 overs

    Ireland 78-5 v Scotland

Michael Leask continues to whirl away, and is milked for six runs by George Dockrell and Curtis Campher.

  10. wicket

    Ireland 70-5 v Scotland

Chris McBride strikes, and that Chris Sole drop is quickly forgotten!

Banged in short, Andy McBrine goes to hook, but can only feather one through to a gleeful Matt Cross behind the stumps.

George Dockrell is the new man, fresh from a wonderful 91 in the defeat to Oman.

How Ireland would love another innings of substance here.

  11. Postpublished at 18 overs

    Ireland 66-4 v Scotland

Tidy stuff from Michael Leask, bowling round the wicket and targeting the stumps.

Just three from his first over.

  12. Postpublished at 17 overs

    Ireland 63-4 v Scotland

It's a good start for Chris McBride, but it could have been so much better, had that catch been taken.

Another change of bowling with Michael Leask brought into the attack.

  13. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 16.3 overs

    Ireland 61-4 v Scotland

    Deary me.

Andy McBrine gets a life, as Chris Sole shells a straightforward chance at mid-on.

McBrine mistimes a pull shot, and Sole gets both hands to it moving forwards, but can't hang on.

  14. Postpublished at 16 overs

    Ireland 60-4 v Scotland

Richie Berrington throws the ball to Chris McBride after drinks.

Alongside Brandon McMullen and Tomas Mackintosh, he's part of the new guard in this Scotland side.

Ireland continue to consolidate, content to rotate the strike after that horror start, and make their way to drinks without any further damage.

  16. Postpublished at 14 overs

    Ireland 52-4 v Scotland

Wow. Curtis Campher is a lucky boy.

He attempts a wild pull shot at a fullish delivery from Safyaan Sharif, which grazes his off-stump on its way through to Matt Cross.

  17. Postpublished at 13 overs

    Ireland 48-4 v Scotland

Not content to just let Mark Watt bowl, Andy McBrine dances down the track and hits him over mid-off for four. Lovely shot.

    Five from the over.

  18. Postpublished at 12 overs

    Ireland 43-4 v Scotland

Better from Ireland, but they need way more of this if they're to post a decent total.

Curtis Campher slaps Safyaan Sharif for four through the covers, before clipping him through midwicket for three more.

  19. Postpublished at 11 overs

    Ireland 34-4 v Scotland

Mark Watt is going through is box of tricks here. Flight, spin, varying his position within the bowling crease, and sending down a couple of lovely in-duckers to boot.

"Look at you go", says Matthew Cross from behind the stumps - very wholesome.

  20. Postpublished at 10 overs

    Ireland 34-4 v Scotland

Safyaan Sharif replaces Chris Sole, and he too is on the money.

Just the single from that over, and Ireland limp their way to 34-4 from the first 10.
