Brandon McMullen works one off his hip through square leg for three runs, and that is the only scoring shot from the third over.

    Scotland 5-1 v Netherlands

A poor start from Ryan Klein, who bowls a big full toss that Chris McBride can only punch back to the bowler.

Another full bunger onto the pads is flicked away for four by McBride, but Klein eventually finds his radar and bowls four dots to finish the set.

    Scotland 1-1 v Netherlands

A dream start for the Netherlands, a nightmare one for Scotland.

There's early movement there for Logan van Beek, and Chris McBride will be happen to squirt one down to third and get off the mark.

However, Matthew Cross is cut in half by one that seams back viciously off the seam, and he has to go without scoring.

    Brandon McMullen is in early.

  7. What do they need to do?published at 07:58 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    Scotland v Netherlands (08:00)

For Scotland, the equation is fairly simple. Win, and they qualify for the World Cup.

However, their slightly superior net run rate means that a narrow defeat would also see them through.

This is where things get somewhat tricky. The Netherlands will need to chase whatever Scotland set with between 5.3 and 6.2 overs to spare, provided they score one more run than Scotland do.

    Clear...?

    Scotland v Netherlands (08:00)

The trend throughout this tournament has been for teams to bowl first, and try to take advantage of any early morning moisture that might be in the surface.

However, Scotland will be encouraged by Tuesday's sensational win over host nation Zimbabwe, where again they lost the toss and were stuck into bat.

After contributions from Matthew Cross, Brandon McMullen and George Munsey, Michael Leask's swashbuckling 48 carried the Scots to 234-8 from their 50 overs, and from there the bowlers took over.

Chris Sole blew the Zimbabwean top order away with a searing spell of pace bowling, taking three early wickets, and bowling upwards of 90mph.

The other seven wickets were shared around as Scotland won by 31 runs to set up this date with destiny...

    Scotland v Netherlands (08:00)

Good morning folks, the day of reckoning is upon us.

Scotland face the Netherlands in Bulawayo knowing that a win, or even a narrow defeat, will see them qualify for this autumn's World Cup in India. It's the highest of stakes, but Richie Berrington's side have shone throughout this event and fully deserve their shot at glory.

The news from the middle is that Netherlands have won the toss, and will have a bowl...
