It's a bit of a nothing shot from Hayley Matthews. She didn't move her feet much and it's just catching practice for the fielder at point.

Matthews c Kalis b Baker 23 (Fire 72-1)
Breakthrough for Birmingham Phoenix!
Hayley Matthews goes back and tries to carve the ball through the off side. There's a hint of extra bounce from Hannah Baker and Matthews slices it a little.
A straightforward catch for Sterre Kalis.
Hannah Baker is on to bowl her leg-spin and makes a solid start.
Five runs from her first five and draws a false shot from Hayley Matthews last ball, the West Indies batter was aiming leg side but got a thick edge that just evaded the fielder.
A brief delay as the players grab a drink. Welsh Fire will be very happy with the position the openers have put them in approaching the halfway stage of the innings.

It's always a good idea as a batter to target the first ball of a set because it just puts the pressure right on the bowler.
Down the ground for six!
Great use of the feet from Tammy Beaumont before she launches Katie Levick straight back over her head for the first maximum of the day.
Hayley Matthews can score runs all around the ground and shows that in this set from Erin Burns, lifting over extra cover one ball and whipping behind square the next.
Fire are keeping the scoreboard ticking over nicely even when the boundaries aren't forthcoming.
Speaking of Hayley Matthews starting to fire, here's her first boundary of the afternoon - smashed through the covers...
Thumped back over the bowler's head for four.
Hayley Matthews is starting to build up a head of steam now for the Fire!
Excellent diving drop from Issy Wong in the deep to deny Hayley Matthews another boundary.
I'm not sure if there was another drop as the ball got through the covers, though? It looked very close to carrying if it didn't.
A new challenge for the Fire batters as Phoenix turn to spin. Katie Levick will bowl the next five.

Welsh Fire will be very happy with where they are. Phoenix started well and tied them down in the first 15 balls or so but Beaumont and Matthews have just started to kick on nicely.
The last ball of the powerplay is flicked leg side again by Tammy Beaumont and this time it's good work on the boundary by Tess Flintoff to save a couple of runs.
Good start for Welsh Fire, though - Beaumont is flying.
Tammy Beaumont just keeps going! It's four more for the right-hander as she pulls Sophie Devine away square.
Tess Flintoff gets around to it in the deep but having done the hard work, gets in a tangle and dives over it.
There's nothing she can do about the next one, though, pulled well behind square by Beaumont this time. Four more.

Tammy Beaumont is in magnificent form. She's had a tough year or so being left out of the England T20 squad but she's very hard to bowl at when she is playing like this.
Drilled back down the ground for four by Tammy Beaumont!
She skips down again and drives powerfully between the stumps and mid-on.
Issy Wong has been expensive so far but it's been a real mixed bag from the seamer. Some superb deliveries but some not so much...

Just slightly too full from Issy Wong but Hayley Matthews makes that shot look effortless.
That might get Hayley Matthews going!
It's a booming drive from the Fire opener, it's in the air but in the gap for four.
Superb from Erin Burns, the only run from her set of five is that erroneously given wide - which was actually a dropped catch.
Hayley Matthews is yet to really get settled at the crease.
Fire 18-0
Is that a drop? It's given wide as Hayley Matthews tries to put away a ball down the leg side from Erin Burns.
Tough chance but Amy Jones can't cling on.
It was a drop! UltraEdge shows there was bat/ glove involved and it's a let off for Matthews.
