  2. 'I'm confident in my body now'published at 21:16 British Summer Time 16 August 2023

Match Hero, Southern Brave's Tymal Mills on BBC Two: "That went a little bit closer than we would have liked but I was confident that eventually we would get one away.

"No secret [to success], I'm staying fit and I'm confident in my body. I'm not coming into games with little niggles.

"I've had a really good summer, I've played a lot for Sussex as well, so just staying on top of it and assessing conditions as best I can."

On varying pace: "I go with my gut. I'll bowl more pace-on balls at the start when the ball is harder because you get more out of the surface.

"Then at the end, take the pace off and vary my pace. Sometimes you have to take a gamble and hope it plays off."

On qualification hopes: "Big game Saturday against the Invincibles. We started slowly but that was the case in the first year and we went on to win the whole thing."

  3. 'Another 10-15 runs would have been nice'published at 21:12 British Summer Time 16 August 2023

Birmingham Phoenix captain Moeen Ali on BBC Two:"It was one of those where the wicket wasn't ideal but we had to adapt.

"We got a half-decent score in the end, something we can defend but it got a little bit dewy which made it harder.

"We took it all the way and should have bowled little bit better. It spun quite a bit. We could've got a few more wickets with plays and misses, the ball beating the bat but we tried and came up short.

"I thought they played really well in the middle, especially the lefties against the off-spinners.

"It would've been nice to get another 10 or 15 runs. All the games have been close, all the teams are strong now and I think it's good for the competition."

  4. 'I knew the wicket would help me'published at 21:10 British Summer Time 16 August 2023

Southern Brave spinner Rehan Ahmed on BBC Two: "I love playing here. Always a good crowd, plenty of energy and that gets us going.

"I think that first wicket of Jamie Smith was my favourite [of my three]. He is such a good player so it was nice to get one sliding under his bat.

"Sometimes when you know you've got a spinning wicket, you put more pressure on yourself because you're expected to take wickets.

"But I tried to relax today because I knew the wicket would help me out.

"I've got players like Chris Jordan, Tymal and James Vince around me and they're so experienced, so I learn a lot from them and it's a great group to be a part of.

"I'm so excited [by my England call-up] and now this win. It's been a lovely day!"
