Thanks for following another action-packed day of Hundred fun!

We'll be back tomorrow from 14:45 BST for London Spirit vs Northern Superchargers - a key battle in the women's competition that could see the Superchargers secure a play-off place with a win.

For now, enjoy my colleague Sam Drury's match report here and we look forward to you joining us tomorrow!

  2. 'A good game of cricket'published at 21:30 British Summer Time 17 August 2023

Match Hero Phil Salt: "It was a good wicket and both sides played well. It came down to who held their nerve at the end. It was a good game of cricket.

"At the halfway stage you always know what the opposition has done well or not done well. Credit to Rockets for how they adjusted in the second half of our innings. There are things we can improve with bat and ball.

"A lot of top-order batters have struggled in this competition, maybe it is the ball or pitches, whatever, but it is nice to put my side in a good position.

"I'll be letting Luke Wood know [about hitting him for six] after the game! It is a great competition and i do enjoy playing against my mates.

"Tournament play is about peaking at the time right. Every team will be wanting to play their best cricket at this stage. This year and last year have always been identical. The only difference is we've got Jos [Buttler] this year. Hopefully we'll keep putting one front in front of the other and make the play-offs."

But of course, it was all set up by the brutal brilliance of Phil Salt, who smashed an astonishing 86 from just 32 balls at the top of the order.

Unsurprisingly, he is named the Match Hero and we'll hear from him shortly.

It was Josh Tongue who got the vital breakthroughs of the set batters, while also producing a beauty to get rid of opener Alex Hales first ball.

    He finished with 3-32.

It was a brave effort from the defending champions in pursuit of a formidable 182 to win.

There was entertainment from Joe Root's 35, Tom Kohler-Cadmore's 64 and Colin Munro's 36 - but the latter were dismissed in quick succession to steer the game back in the Originals' favour.

Manchester Originals win by 10 runspublished at 21:18 British Summer Time 17 August 2023

Paul Walter holds his nerve for the Manchester Originals!

Daniel Sams is caught from the final ball, with an impossible 11 needed from it, and the defending champions Trent Rockets have suffered another defeat.

  7. Rockets 171-4published at 2 balls left

    Need 11 from 2 balls

    Sixes or nothing, now.

  8. Rockets 170-4published at 3 balls left

    Need 12 from 3 balls

Very good from Paul Walter so far. Another scampered single.

Boundaries or nothing for Trent Rockets now.

  9. Rockets 169-4published at 4 balls left

    Need 13 from 4 balls

    Just a single first ball.

  10. Rockets 168-4published at 5 balls left

    Need 14 from 5 balls

Zaman Khan recovers well, just a single from his last ball.

It's all coming down to the last five... and it'll be Paul Walter to bowl them.

  11. 6 runs

Rockets 167-4published at 6 balls left

    Need 15 from 6 balls

Is there hope for Trent Rockets?

Zaman Khan starts so, so well - again nailing his yorkers and the batters can't do anything.

But he slips with a full toss and Daniel Sams clobbers it for six!

  12. Postpublished at 21:08 British Summer Time 17 August 2023

The wickets of Colin Munro and Tom Kohler-Cadmore have completely stalled Rockets' chase.

They were going along so nicely before the Originals' fightback.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10 balls left

    Kohler-Cadmore c Hartley b Tongue 64 (Rockets 157-4)

    Is that the game?

Having to accelerate, Tom Kohler-Cadmore takes a big swing at Josh Tongue's last ball and the ball sails high, high into the air.

Tom Hartley steadies himself and takes a good catch under a ball that was swirling under the lights.

Two new batters on strike for Rockets as they need 25 from the last 10 balls.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13 balls left

    Munro c Buttler b Tongue 36 (Rockets 154-3)

Wow! Colin Munro doesn't look happy, but the umpire's decision stands!

I wonder if he thinks he's hit the ground, as his bat was quite low. Either way, Trent Rockets have got to try and complete this chase with one new batter at the crease, and that makes it a lot harder.

  15. Rockets reviewpublished at 13 balls left

    Has Josh Tongue fought back?

He bowls brilliantly, following Colin Munro as he moves about in the crease and cramping him for room.

He's given out caught behind after an appeal from the keeper, but reviews it pretty quickly.

  16. 6 runs

Rockets 153-2published at 14 balls left

    Need 29 from 14 balls

    Well then!

Colin Munro gives himself some room and carves Josh Tongue's first ball for a remarkable six over cover!

  17. Rockets 147-2published at 15 balls left

    Need 35 from 15 balls

Just brilliant from Zaman Khan for the Originals.

He nails his death bowling, getting the ball nice and full so the batters don't have any room to swing their arms.

The last ball is skewed up in the air by Munro, almost a chance for a catch but it lands safely for two runs.

He goes for just seven runs, with no boundaries scored, from five balls.

  18. Rockets 140-2published at 20 balls left

    Target 182

Four more! Tom Kohler-Cadmore with a sweet strike over mid-wicket.

Usama Mir has conceded a whopping 45 runs from his 20 balls.

42 required from the last 20 balls.

  19. 6 runs

Rockets 134-2published at 23 balls left

A mighty blow into the stands from Colin Munro!

Six valuable runs to the Rockets' total.

  20. Rockets 125-2published at 25 balls left

    Target 182

Jamie Overton hasn't got a wicket yet but he's been so good. He tempts Colin Munro into a swing and a miss for a crucial dot ball and he's bowled his 15 balls for just 15 runs so far.

Rockets need a tricky 57 from 25 balls now.
