  1. Superchargers 92-4published at 36 balls left

    69 runs needed

Nathan Ellis comes into the attack amid the Lord's mist. How it is not raining I do not know.

He varies his pace and line to keep the batters guessing. A bouncer lures Adam Hose into a loose pull that smacks into his helmet and flies over the wicketkeeper for four byes.

The physio comes out for a concussion check but he looks to be fine.

  2. 6 runs

Superchargers 86-4published at 41 balls left

    75 runs needed

The issue with these slower balls is if you drag it down you get punished. Ravi Bopara does just that and Harry Book creams the ball over the rope.

  3. Postpublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 18 August 2023

Ravi Bopara is back into the attack. At 3-5 from 10 balls that is not really a surprise.

  4. Superchargers 72-4published at 45 balls left

    87 runs needed

Adam Hose gives himself some room and very nearly guides he ball straight to Matt Critchley at short third, but he can only parry the ball away for a welcome boundary for Superchargers. We have not seen too many of them lately.

  5. Superchargers 65-4published at 50 balls left

Spirit continue to take all the pace off the ball with Liam Dawson bowling his third set.

Just the four singles come off it so the Superchargers reach the halfway stage still needing another 96 runs.

No need to panic yet, but some acceleration is needed soon.

London Spirit didn't start well in the field but they've certainly upped it in the last 15 balls.

  7. Superchargers 61-4published at 55 balls left

    100 runs needed

All eyes on Harry Brook as he looks to lead the Superchargers recovery. He hammers Matt Critchley through mid-wicket for four.

    Ravi Bopara does it again!!!

It is the knuckle ball once more that Saif Zaib sweeps straight to Liam Dawson at short fine leg.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 64 balls left

    Banton b Bopara 2 (Superchargers 54-3)

Ravi Bopara strikes again! He is taking all the pace off the ball to make it difficult for the batters to hit it off the square.

Tom Banton gives himself some room and goes for the heave but the ball clatters into his off stump.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 69 balls left

    Short c Ellis b Bopara 20 (Superchargers 51-2)

    And he has!

Matthew Short pulls straight to mid-wicket where Nathan Ellis, who was also guilty of an earlier drop, pouches the catch.

    Relief all round.

  11. Superchargers 51-1published at 70 balls left

Tom Banton is the new batter as Liam Dawson bowls a second straight set. He is 1-9 from his first 10 balls so far, bringing a bit of control to the Spirit attack.

Ravi Bopara comes into the attack. He will be keen to make up for his earlier drop.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 75 balls left

    Lyth c Thompson b Dawson 26 (Superchargers 45-1)

Adam Lyth's luck finally runs out!

The Superchargers goes for a pull but can only sky it to Jordan Thompson at deep backward square leg, who holds on to the catch.

  13. dropped catch

Adam Lyth dropped on 25published at 78 balls left

Buy a lottery ticket Adam Lyth, he has been dropped again!

It is Nathan Ellis this time at mid-wicket who spills the chance.

  14. Superchargers 42-0published at 80 balls left

Adam Lyth goes for another wild swing that finds a thick edge and just evades the dive of wicketkeeper Adam Rossington.

Lyth has another touch of fortune next ball as a heave to deep square leg is fumbled on the boundary for four.

It looks so hazy at Lord's, as if this game is being played on the sub-continent. I'm not sure how it is not raining as it looks like there is plenty of moisture in the air, which is probably making life difficult in the field.

  15. 6 runs

Superchargers 26-0published at 86 balls left

Adam Lyth is swinging at everything. He doesn't quite connect with another heave over mid-wicket but it still has enough to drop just over the rope.

Dan Worrall has gone for 20 runs from his 10 balls so far.

  16. 6 runs

Superchargers 22-0published at 91 balls left

Matthew Short runs salt into the wounds by powering the next ball on the half-volley though square leg for six.

The camera then pans to Ravi Bopara, who looks thoroughly cheesed off.

Adam Lyth dropped on eightpublished at 92 balls left

Oh no, Ravi Bopara has dropped a dolly.

Adam Lyth has top-edged the ball into the sky, Bopara runs in from third man, but shells the catch!

Bopara cannot believe it. And neither can the crowd a Lord's.

    Thanks, Sam.

This one is set up nicely. Let's just hope the weather does not intervene (again).

It is very cloudy and muggy at Lord's. Looking at the radar there's some wet weather on the way, it is just a matter of when.
