Launched high over mid-wicket by Emily Arlott! Six!

    Phoenix aren't done just yet...

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 19 balls left

    Burns c N Sciver-Brunt b King 16 (Phoenix 94-3)

Horrible full toss from Alana King but Erin Burns smashes it straight to deep mid-wicket.

Nat Sciver-Brunt makes the catch look incredibly easy but then throws the ball in quickly, concerned it might have been a no-ball.

It's very close but the third umpire checks it and decides it was a fair delivery.

  3. Phoenix 94-2published at 20 balls left

    Need 41 more

Katherine Sciver-Brunt has been unusually expensive today but that is a good final five balls from the former England all-rounder.

Good running allows Amy Jones to get two from the last ball. But Phoenix now need more than two runs-a-ball.

  4. Phoenix 87-2published at 25 balls left

    Need 48 more

Phoenix needed those boundaries. If Amy Jones gets going - and there are signs she might do - then we could be in for a very exciting finish.

  5. Phoenix 84-2published at 27 balls left

    Need 51 more

Brilliant reverse sweep from Amy Jones! she hits Bryony Smith up and over the off side for four.

Now she goes leg side! Too short from Smith and Jones hammers it into the gap for four more.

If you have a few dot balls in The Hundred you feel like you're really behind the eight-ball, but equally a couple of boundaries and you're back in the game.

Very tidy stuff from Kirstie Gordon. I feel like that could have been said after just about every set she's bowled in this tournament.

Rockets need to win this game to keep themselves in with a chance of progressing. They looked well placed to do so at the moment.

  8. Phoenix 71-2published at 34 balls left

    Need 64 more

One ball into Kirstie Gordon's set and Nat Sciver-Brunt calls for the strategic timeout.

It doesn't have to be at the end of the set and NSB decided now was a good time to talk things over with her team.

Or maybe she just fancied a drink?

  9. Phoenix 70-2published at 35 balls left

    Need 65 more

It's all going on at Trent Bridge!

Amy Jones misses with a sweep shot off Alana King and somehow it misses off stump by a whisker.

The ball flicks off Lizelle Lee's glove to short third, the batters go for a risky single. There's a shy at stumps. That misses and there's an overthrow!

  10. Phoenix 64-2published at 40 balls left

Why has Alana King not gone for the catch?

Amy Jones swings the ball leg side off Alexa Stonehouse, the ball is in the air for a good while but King lets it bounce.

I can only assume she misjudged that one because otherwise, I have no idea why she wouldn't have at least attempted to make the catch.

  11. dropped catch

Amy Jones dropped on 5published at 44 balls left

    Phoenix 76-2

Amy Jones tries to force the ball through the covers off Alexa Stonehouse but it's in the air.

There is a bit of power behind it but it should still be caught by Naomi Dattani low down.

    Lucky escape for Jones.

That will help Phoenix! Erin Burns skips down and launches Bryony Smith over mid-one - one bounce for four.

It's still just five from the set, though.

It doesn't feel like it is going to happen for Birmingham Phoenix.

We [Welsh Fire] are just going to have to win to qualify.

  14. Phoenix 54-2published at 50 balls left

    Need 81 more

It's Amy Jones and Erin Burns at the crease now for Phoenix after the openers fell in quick succession.

Jones gets two from the last ball of Kirstie Gordon's set with a reverse paddle that goes fine but doesn't have the legs to reach the boundary cushion.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 53 balls

    Devine c Lee b Gordon 28 (Phoenix 51-2)

Two down as Kirstie Gordon strikes!

Sophie Devine aims a brutal sweep shot leg side, gets a top-edge that sends the ball into the grille of Lizelle Lee's helmet behind the stumps.

The bounce is kind, though, and wicketkeeper reacts well to complete the catch.

  16. Phoenix 51-1published at 55 balls left

Six runs from Alana King's set, all in ones and twos but, of course, it was trying to pinch a quick single that cost Birmingham Phoenix their first wicket.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 58 balls left

E Jones run out (Stonehouse) 20 (Phoenix 47-1)

Missed stumping but then a direct hit!

Eve Jones skipped down to Alana King, missed but Lizelle Lee fumbled and the stumping chance went begging.

However, Sophie Devine called for a single as the ball trickled to short fine leg, Alexa Stonehouse collected it and threw down the stumps at the bowler's end.

    Jones' reprieve was extremely short-lived.

  18. Phoenix 45-0published at 60 balls left

    Need 90 more

A pair of singles end that Alana King set, a good one for Phoenix as they take 10 from it.

After a slow start, they are starting to build up a head of steam.

  19. 6 runs

Phoenix 43-0published at 62 balls left

    Need 91 more

Six! Smashed over cow corner by Sophie Devine, that's a big hit!

The Phoenix opener cleared her front leg and walloped Bryony Smith high and over the rope for the first maximum of the innings.

  20. Phoenix 34-0published at 65 balls left

    Target 135

Two boundaries in the Katherine Sciver-Brunt set for Eve Jones - much-needed for Phoenix.

The first comes as KSB bowls wide of off, Jones throws the bat at it and the ball comes off the toe-end and down to deep third for four.

It's not a clean connection for the second either but it's slightly more controlled by Jones, hitting up and over backward point.
