Dani Gibson is just backing herself to bowl into the wicket and it pays off. There was no timing in the shot whatsoever.

Sanjeewani was looking a bit stuck.

    Breakthrough!

Dani Gibson endures a difficult start to her over, bowling two no-balls, but she recovers to take the first wicket.

It is a bit of a nothing shot from Anushka Sanjeewani, who loops the ball up to Charlie Dean at mid-on for a simple catch.

I do think we'll still see spin the powerplay, because it's a role that Charlie Dean is used to doing.

But I like seeing England backing their seamers, and seeing if they can get something from the new ball.

    Target 105

A strong start by Sri Lanka, with six off Kate Cross' first over.

Danielle Gibson will open at the other end.

  5. SL 4-0published at 0.2 overs

Shot. That is why Chamari Athapaththu is so dangerous. She has just smashed her second ball from Kate Cross back over her head for four.

    Quite the statement of intent.

    Thanks, Ffion.

Kate Cross will open the bowling for England to the experienced Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu.

It almost goes without saying that they need early wickets.

    Right then.

England have made hard work of it so far.

Can Sri Lanka get the 105 runs needed to get themselves back into the series?

Here's Tom Mallows to take you through the chase.

It is a pretty bleak highlights reel for England from the first half of this game.

It's basically just wicket after wicket. Here's the first three.

England's Charlie Dean on Sky Sports: "It was spinning a bit but it did come on to the bat nicely at the end.

"It's not the total we would have wanted but as bowlers, we have just got to be smart and it's something we can defend.

"It was a tricky one to pace when we had lost a few wickets but I just played to my strengths. But I'm disappointed as I still feel I left some runs out there.

"They mixed up their pace well and we didn't know what was coming. We know what we have to do now."

Sri Lanka have been mightily impressive today. They were disappointing at Hove, though the conditions were difficult. But is is like a completely different team.

They've taken some good catches, saved 10 or so runs in the field and set the tone with their bowling from the off.

Alex Hartley is confident, and it is understandable - on paper, England have the stronger bowling attack and Sri Lanka aren't used to beating them.

But regardless, it was a fantastic effort in the field given how much they struggled in the first T20.

England will be very disappointed with that performance and the way they played the spin.

It feels like 110 will be a defendable total for England.

When your number eight is top scorer by 20 runs you know something has gone wrong.

What a performance from Sri Lanka! Charlie Dean smashed the previous ball for four but is bowled by Prabodhani for her second wicket in the over.

Dean departs for a crucial 34 but it's been dismal from England. They collapse to 104 all out.

    Wong b Prabodhani 13 (Eng 99-9)

    The handy partnership is broken!

And it's a very rare occurrence as a seamer takes a wicket. Issy Wong takes a big heave across the line and loses her leg stump.

One wicket left for Sri Lanka, or can England make the most of their 20 overs?

  17. Eng 98-8published at 17 overs

Shot! Issy Wong clubs one straight back down the ground for four as this is turning into a very handy little partnership for England to close out the innings.

Can Charlie Dean stay there until the end for England?

  19. Eng 89-8published at 16 overs

Smart cricket from Dean and Wong as they just keep the singles ticking over.

Dean has worked her way to 27 from 20 balls in a mature knock so far.

There have been a couple of fumbles but in general, it's been a very professional performance in the field from Sri Lanka.
