    Capsey c Priyadharshani b Kumari 3 (Eng 15-2)

    Wow! Capsey's frustration tells!

The star on Thursday departs for a scratchy three from nine balls as she tries to force the spinner over the top, but drills it straight to Fernando at mid-off.

Sugandika Kumari, who went for 34 from just two overs at Hove, delivers a perfect response.

Sri Lanka have had to learn quickly. It has been a quick turnaround from the first match in Hove and in completely different conditions here at Chelmsford.

  3. Eng 13-1published at 3 overs

    A very fine over.

Just the single from it as Sri Lanka vastly improve their start with the ball.

  4. Eng 12-1published at 2.5 overs

Five dot balls for Capsey against the spin of Fernando...

  5. Eng 12-1published at 2 overs

    No opening partner, no bother!

Maia Bouchier with a lovely skip down the pitch to slice her second boundary past the fielder at point.

Alice Capsey is in at three.

If Sri Lanka can get through that top order then they will think they have a chance because this is a very young England side. The average age of the team on Thursday was 23.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 1 over

    Wyatt b Athapaththu 1 (Eng 6-1)

A big breakthrough in the first over!

Lovely bit of bowling from the Sri Lanka skipper as she gets one to drift back in past Wyatt's defences and on to the stumps.

A frustrated waft of the bat from Wyatt as she walks off but the bowling side are delighted with that one.

  9. Eng 5-0published at 0.4 overs

    Off the mark in style!

A single to Wyatt gives Maia Bouchier the strike, and she threads her first ball through the covers for four.

    Lovely timing.

  10. Eng 0-0published at 0.1 overs

A rare defensive shot from Danni Wyatt to Chamari Athapaththu first up.

I doubt we'll see too many more of those, though.

Sri Lanka's seamers will also be looking to bounce back.

Wyatt and Bouchier blitzed an opening stand of 77 in 7.3 overs at Hove, but the conditions were cold and wet and that was something they really found difficult.

They do rely on their spinners, but have got a great opportunity today to put on a better show.

It is a huge opportunity for Maia Bouchier in this series.

She had a great Hundred, and she plays so well straight down the ground which will bring her into the game against Sri Lanka's spinners.

So there will be no Mahika Gaur for England today as Heather Knight looks to use the chance to test out her other seam bowling options.

Issy Wong, who hasn't played for England since December, comes in with a big opportunity.

Chamari Athapaththu calls correctly, and opts to bowl first on a sunny day in Essex.

They were given the Alice Capsey treatment a couple of days ago, but the captain is backing her bowlers to put things right.
