Slightly becalmed at present as New Zealand once again work three singles from Azmat.

Rashid Khan is an ego bowler. If he doesn't get wickets, he searches for them in his eighth, ninth and 10th over and goes for more runs than you'd expect. So it's good for Afghanistan that he's in the wickets.
Latham turns Rashid into square leg and takes a casual single.
Phillips then bats out five dot balls - not his natural game. Rashid has figures of 1-18 from his five overs thus far.

This is what happens in 50-over cricket - nothing much happens, then there's a flurry, then the arm wrestle starts up again. It's an under-rated format.

Glenn Phillips can have limited footwork and throw his hands at the ball early in his innings.
Three singles from Azmat's second over, somewhat quieter than the first.
New Zealand still have time in this game to rebuild, but they'll have to ride out a few difficult overs first.
Because he squeezes the middle overs, geddit?

The boa constrictor is at work.
Glenn Phillips comes in with significant work to do.
He watches as Rashid sends down an off-side wide, before taking a single into point.

It's hurried on to him, it's not as short as he expected. Daryl Mitchell can't believe it. It's such a huge wicket. Afghanistan are turning the game in the middle, which is what they did against England.
Mitchell c Zadran b Rashid 1 (NZ 110-4)
Afghanistan have another!
Daryl Mitchell attempts the pull but can only find the mid-wicket fielder Zadran, who doesn't move and takes a smart catch right in front of his face.
Another dangerous batter departs and New Zealand have gone from 109-1 to 110-4 in the space of nine deliveries!

That is the most satisfying wicketkeeping dismissal, apart from a leg-side stumping, which you can get. Moments like that change games.
Young c Ikram b Azmat 54 (NZ 110-3)
That's carried - and it's a fantastic catch!
An attempted drive from Young and it takes a faint inside edge. Ikram Alikhil takes the grab diving to his left, taking the ball just above the ground as it faded on him.
After looking comfortable, New Zealand suddenly have to rebuild with two new batters at the crease, as Tom Latham comes out to join Mitchell.

If this is a catch, it's sensational - an inside edge, diving, one-handed. You have to be so good with your balance to get low and dive on the inside.
Is this a second wicket in the over?
Azmat thinks he has Will Young caught behind - the umpires consult before signalling for the third umpire to get involved.

My inner fast bowler loves seeing a dismissal like that.

A huge heave across the line - he didn't need to play a shot like that. He lined up the bowler like he was trash, but there's only one guy at the kerb waiting for the recycling truck.
Ravindra b Azmat 32 (NZ 109-2)
Bowled him!
Afghanistan introduce sixth bowler Azmat Omarzai and Ravindra's eyes light up. He attempts an ugly mow across the line and is cleaned up, stumps everywhere.
A disappointing end to a promising looking innings. Here comes Daryl Mitchell.

It's a tough one, because it was full of length, and he yorked Ravindra, but essentially he gathered the ball in his elbows.
