Thank you, Tim. I've been having a lovely chat with Tim, who is a proud Liverpudlian, on why Manchester is a superior city. I think he's come round to my way of thinking.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Marsh has whalloped Haris Rauf over cow for six. This is going to get very messy.

I don't think I've seen hundreds off successive balls before but that's what Warner and Marsh have achieved.

Marsh was slower than Warner but no less effective.

Hundreds brought up in successive balls as Mitch Marsh then drives Mohammad Nawaz throug the covers for four to reach his milestone.

Both he and David Warner have a long embrace in the middle of the pitch before Marsh raises his bat to the Australian dressing room.

There's the Warner leap into the air and a fist pump.

He shouldn't really be there, he was badly dropped on 10 but he has made it count.

A fine hundred from the veteran.

Mitch Marsh takes a single off Mohammad Nawaz to get David Warner on strike on 99.

Warner knocks the first couple of balls back to the bowler.

Off the fourth ball of the over Warner brings up his 21st ODI century with a little clip into the leg side. He leaps in the air and punches it in celebration giving the photographers exactly what they want.

This is what happens when you burn out your bowlers before a major tournament. I just can’t see Pakistan turning this around. They were knocked out of this the moment Naseem Shah was injured.

Mitch Marsh nabs a single off the final ball of Hassan Ali's over with a poke into the covers to keep the strike. He has 96. David Warner has 99.

    Who will get their first?

Also so effortless for Mitch Marsh.

He plonks his left foot down the pitch and with a dashing swing of the blade lifts Hassan Ali back over his head, and the sight screens, for a well-struck six.

It will be interesting to see what Australia do when (if?!) they lose a wicket. If they are really going for it, put Maxwell in next.

  12. Aus 199-0published at 29 overs

Once again Pakistan's spinners drop it too short to David Warner and he punishes them.

Mohammad Nawaz sends down a half tracker and the left-handed Aussie opener quickly pulls it to the boundary.

Babar Azam bites his thumb then strokes that luxurious beard of his. Warner needs two more runs for his century.

  13. 6 runs

Hassan Ali into the attack as Babar Azam shuffles his pack.

However, Mitch Marsh shows intent early and pulls the seamer's first ball for six into the leg side.

Marsh now has 86 while David Warner is unbeaten on 93.

  15. Aus 184-0published at 27 overs

Good use of the feet from David Warner as he advances down the pitch to strike Mohammad Nawaz down the ground for four.

The left-hander then squirts one beyond backward point for a single to take Australia beyond that record from the last time Australia played a World Cup match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

By the way, Australia's highest partnership for any wicket in World Cups is the 260 Warner and Steve Smith made against Afghanistan in Perth in March 2015.

  16. Aus 176-0published at 26 overs

Australia honing on their highest first-wicket stand in World Cups which was the 183 made by Shane Watson and Brad Haddin against Canada at this very same ground in March 2011.

  18. Aus 175-0published at 25.3 overs

Good use of the long levers from Mitch Marsh from a few moments ago. Effortless striking.

  19. Aus 172-0published at 25 overs

Mitch Marsh almost appears to be smirking as Mohammad Nawaz bowls five dots, each tantalising and tempting for the Aussie opener. Marsh doesn't bite, though,.

It was set in this World Cup, as it happens Aamer.

Aiden Markram hit the fastest World Cup hundred as South Africa made 428-5 against Sri Lanka in their opening game - the highest score in the tournament's history.

Iftikhar Ahmed brings one back for Pakistan with just two runs conceded off his seventh over. Although, frustratingly for Pakistan, one of those came via a misfield from Babar Azam.
