  • Warner, dropped on 10 & 105, makes brilliant 163

  • Opener Marsh also hits century as Australia put on 259 for first wicket

  • Australia fall from 325-3 to 367-9

  • Shaheen takes 5-54 as Australia fail to build on blistering start

  • Rizwan keeps Pakistan in hunt but Zampa's four wickets apply brakes

  • Stoinis takes two quick wickets to end 134-run opening stand

  1. Pak 238-4published at 36 overs

Marcus Stoinis, taker of the catch, attracter of photographers in New York (look it up), is back into the attack. Cummins is really ringing the changes, one and two-over spells. This is good from Stoinis, who has biceps like hams. Six from it, but no boundary.

  2. Pak 232-4published at 35 overs

    Target 368

What was I saying about the rest of that Pakistan batting? Here's Iftikhar Ahmed. Another wicket soon and you'd think it's very difficult for Pakistan.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 34.2 overs

    Saud c Stoinis b Cummins 30 (Pak 232-4)

He's only gone and done it! When Gotham City, I mean Australia, needed him, Patman Pat Cummins pulls it out of the bag.

It's an ugly swipe by Saud Shakeel, looping into the off side for Marcus Stoinis to take a good catch running back over his shoulder.

  4. Pak 232-3published at 34.1 overs

    Target 368

Here's Patman. Time to pull on the suit, caped crusader.

  5. Pak 231-3published at 34 overs

    Target 368

The issue for Pakistan is the batting to come. Some hitters, but not always the most reliable. Too short from Maxwell, with Saud pulling for four. Pat Cummins looks worried. If he's going to turn into Patman, now would be the time.

  6. Pak 222-3published at 33 overs

    Target 368

Cheeky! Saud scoops Starc for four. In fairness, it was an awful ball from Starc, a shin-high full toss.

Mitchell Starc is pumped away for four. Pakistan are stilling picking up boundaries in every over. These two are just building are partnership.

  8. Pak 218-3published at 32.3 overs

    Target 368

Is this going to be the close game the World Cup has been crying out for? It's certainly bubbling up into a classic. Mitchell Starc is struggling here, dropping short to allow Saud a pull for four.

  9. Pak 213-3published at 32 overs

    Target 368

They're at it again, this time with Rizwan running at Maxwell for a belt through mid-off for four. At what point do Pakistan become favourites? If this pair are still together at 40 overs, it gets very interesting.

  10. Pak 208-3published at 31 overs

    Target 368

The thing for Pakistan is they are scoring a boundary an over without a great deal of effort. This time it's against the returning Mitchell Starc, who is fetched to the leg-side fence by Rizwan. Starc has been expensive. He's gone for 47 from his six overs.

The 200 is up for Pakistan so they have 20 overs to score 168. It's been an interesting game and a different sort of a game to other World Cup matches. You can't be quite certain of which way this is going to go.

  12. Pak 200-3published at 30 overs

Saud is OK, so much so that he biffs Hazlewood aerially to the long-on boundary for four.

  13. Pak 196-3published at 29.4 overs

    Target 368

Ooofff. That's a vicious bouncer from Josh Hazlewood, hitting Saud on the helmet and flying over Josh Inglis for four leg byes. Everything will stop while Saud is looked at.

  14. Pak 190-3published at 29 overs

    Target 368

Is he? I'd have him down as more of a Tim. Marnus Labuschange as Gareth, obviously. Saud runs down the pitch and squeezes Zampa to the mid-wicket fence for four.

Mitchell Starc looking very David Brent-esque today

  16. Pak 181-3published at 28 overs

    Target 368

Josh Hazlewood is back into the attack as Australia look for another wicket to really hammer home their advantage.

No wicket this time but only two runs from the over and the required rate is up to 8.50.

  17. Pak 179-3published at 27 overs

    Target 368

Saud Shakeel joins Mohammad Rizwan and, for all that Pakistan have kept themselves in the hunt, you feel that that wicket really puts Australia in the ascendency.

Babar Azam is the number one ranked batter, a key player for Pakistan, and it took his counterpart Pat Cummins to take a brilliant catch to get rid of him.

The Aussie captain put down one earlier but this is a screamer. A brilliant instinctive reflex catch from Pat Cummins.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 26.2 overs

    Babar c Cummins b Zampa 18 (Pak 175-3)

    Huge wicket!

Australia are jubilant, they've taken the crucial wicket of Babar Azam as the Pakistan captain pulls a long hop from Adam Zampa and is well caught at mid-wicket.

It was well struck by Babar but Pat Cummins went to his right and takes a fantastic catch.
