    Pressure reliever.

After playing out six dot balls Muhammad Rizwan decides he's had enough.

He's helped by Mujeeb Ur Rahman delivering a slot ball but Rizwan gets down early and crunches a sweep over the ropes for six.

    Superb shot.

Abdullah Shafique played nicely for his 58 but was once again unable to go on and make that match-winning contribution.

  3. Pak 110-2published at 23 overs

That wicket has brought Muhammad Rizwan to the crease, alongside Babar Azam. This is the key partnership for both sides now.

He's greeted by an absolute beauty from Noor Ahmad, with the ball spinning away and beating the outside edge.

Rizwan then looks to sweep and misses, before a tentative prod sees him beaten on the outside edge again.

    A lovely over from Noor.

That's not a bad decision, it's just the wrong one. You can understand why he said it's not out. There's that little bit of turn out there. A Pakistan batter again gets a start but without a big score or 100. This top five get to 50 so easily but don't go on to get what they should. Outside the top five, the best is 40-60 and that does not win you games of ODI cricket.

Look at the Aghan celebrations out there, they are all rubbing Noor Ahmad's head. He's got his man!

    Shafique lbw b Noor 58 (Pak 110-2)

    Got 'im!

It's good bowling from the left-arm spinner Noor Ahmad. His initial angle makes the ball head towards the leg side but he finds a little bit of spin on this occasion.

It straightens enough and the technology shows it is smashing into leg stump.

Afghanistan, perhaps surprised based on their initial appeal, are delighted with that.

Nabi was adamant. It looks really good.

It does spin back and pitches in line. This looks close.

It goes under the bat and there's no glove.

    Hello!

Has Noor Ahmad trapped Abdullah Shafique lbw?

It felt like a pretty half-hearted appeal from Afghanistan but they've decided it is worth a review.

Beaten all ends up, it shows the class of the Afghanistan spinners, you always feel like you're not in and have one with your name on it. That was a class bit of carry from Mujeeb.

  13. Pak 109-1published at 22 overs

    Shafique 58, Babar 32

Ooh! Mujeeb Ur Rahman draws a genuine outside edge from the driving Abdullah Shafique but it goes comfortably wide of the slip and dribbles away to the boundary.

It brings up the 50 partnership between Shafique and Babar Azam too. It's got to continue and go big from a Pakistan perspective.

Pakistan should be aiming for around six an over from here, which would take them to 280. That would be a good score.

  15. Pak 103-1published at 21 overs

Rashid Khan rattles through another over, conceding just three singles.

He goes round the wicket for the final ball and fires it across Babar Azam.

The Pakistan captain leaves it, thinking it will be a wide, but umpire Paul Reiffel says no and Babar looks rather disgruntled at the call.

It's a decent start, it's a typical Pakistan start, a slower start. Pakistan have lost their last couple of matches, there will be some jitters. Babar needs a big score, he will need to be looking for 100.

    Thanks Ffion.

Pakistan are laying a good platform here, but they have been guilty of losing wickets in clusters so far in this World Cup, so it is whether they can make the most of it.

Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi said he wanted to restrict Pakistan to around 250 at the toss so will be thinking wickets at this stage.

  18. Pak 100-1published at 20 overs

Babar Azam is playing second fiddle to Abdullah at the moment but he is timing the ball beautifully, driving Noor Ahmad through the covers for four.

Pakistan bring up their 100 in good time, and that's my cue to hand over to Callum Matthews to take you through the middle overs.

Abdullah Shafique is continuing his good form, Pakistan need that from an opener, but his target now has to be getting to 100.
