  1. SA 337-4published at 47 overs

    Miller 2, Klaasen 79

Dopey fielding from Bangladesh allows Heinrich Klaasen to get back for two from the last ball of the over.

That might not be the worst thing for Bangladesh, though, as it keeps the set batter off strike.

Watch out in the crowd, Heinrich Klaasen is at it again!

Low full toss from Mustafizur Rahman and it is bludgeoned over the leg side, just shy of the second tier.

South Africa are going to cruise past 350.

  6. 6 runs

    SA 317-4published at 46 overs

In the slot from Hasan Mahmud and Heinrich Klaasen just clears his front leg and wallops the ball back over his head for a maximum.

No let up from South Africa. No surprise there.

Brief respite for Bangladesh as Quinton de Kock drags himself from the field.

Coming out to replace him is David Miller so that respite is likely only to be very brief...

What an incredible innings and what entertainment South Africa have given us at this World Cup so far. Their batting has been sensational.

    De Kock c Nasum b Mahmud 174 (SA 309-4)

The end of a phenomenal innings from Quinton de Kock.

It's a full toss wide of off from Hasan Mahmud, De Kock tries to open the face and lift the ball over deep backward point for six.

However, despite a decent connection, there isn't quite enough on it and Nasum Ahmed takes a straightforward catch on boundary.

Expect plenty more like this in the next five overs...

  11. SA 309-3published at 45 overs

In the context of the last few overs, this is a superb over from Mustafizur Rahman.

    It goes for nine.

A good comeback from the left-arm seamer after Quinton de Kock whipped the first ball away for four.

  14. Highest individual scores in World Cupspublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 24 October 2023

Quinton de Kock is up to 11th on the all-time individual highest score at a World Cup list. Here's the top five:

    • 237 not out - Martin Guptill for New Zealand v West Indies, 2015
    • 215 - Chris Gayle for West Indies v Zimbabwe, 2015
    • 188 not out - Gary Kirsten for South Africa v UAE, 1996
    • 183 - Sourav Ganguly for India v Sri Lanka, 1999
    • 181 - Viv Richards for West Indies v Sri Lanka, 1987

If he reaches a double century it would be South Africa's first in ODIs.

  15. SA 300-3published at 44 overs

Quinton de Kock's single takes South Africa to 300.

The talk was off 350 a few overs ago, 400 isn't beyond the realms of possibility now.

That will put my fingers to the test given the pace at which I'm already having to type - I can barely keep up with all these boundaries!

Bad news, Bangladesh fans, it's not just Quinton de Kock swinging for the hills now.

Heinrich Klaasen gets in on the act with a mighty six over the leg side and brings up a 34-ball fifty with a single next ball.

If I was Shoriful I would call for a suit of armour for the next delivery because that shot nearly took his head off.

  19. SA 292-3published at 43.2 overs

Just fantastic batting from Quinton de Kock!

He opens the face of the bat at the last moment to guide the first ball of the over past short third for four before drilling the next back past Shoriful Islam for four more.

That went like a tracer bullet!

This is now the highest individual score at this World Cup.
