    WICKETpublished at 40 overs

    De Kock c Phillips b Southee 114 (SA 238-2)

De Kock goes - he built the platform magnificently, but he won't be around for the inevitable acceleration.

Bit of a gift for New Zealand, the South African opener guiding the ball into the hands of Glenn Phillips at backward point as though he were doing a bit of pre-match catching practice.

That was there to be crunched away for four.

New Zealand are in a spot of bother in this World Cup with Matt Henry going off.

Lovely shot from Rassie van der Dussen, up on his toes and slashing it away.

  4. SA 232-1published at 39.5 overs

Van der Dussen moves into the nineties, whipping Southee through point for four with a wristy cut.

He then takes a single down to fine leg to bring up the two hundred partnership.

There wasn't much width offered but De Kock didn't need much.

  6. SA 230-1published at 39 overs

De Kock unfurls a lovely drive, backing away slightly to send Boult to the cover boundary.

  7. Not outpublished at 38.2 overs

    Yep, plonked into the wicket.

There's half an appeal from Trent Boult as he questions whether the ball came off De Kock's toe and straight into his hands.

New Zealand know this is reasonably unlikely.

  9. Umpire reviewpublished at 38.2 overs

    SA 224-1

De Kock smacks a Boult delivery into the ground and the New Zealand bowler collects. There was a touch of boot there too and the umpires are going to double-check.

Holding myself a hostage to fortune, but I don't think this out.

This is Rassie van der Dussen's moment and perhaps even his challenge.

I think he's underappreciated for what he does for South Africa, he is one of their leading run-scorers but he just doesn't do it very quickly.

  11. SA 223-1published at 38 overs

Dispatched! Quinton de Kock picks Tim Southeee's cutter and sends the ball back over his head for four.

A single from every other delivery, as South Africa motor along.

  12. SA 214-5published at 37 overs

More runs down the ground as Van der Dussen slaps Santner four four.

What do we reckon the South African target is from here? 150-odd more?

You ask when South Africa are having an over to go for it, this is it.

It's six, it's 100. Quinton de Kock has played another masterful innings. What a performer. He's waved his bat into the air.

Century for Quinton de Kockpublished at 36 overs

    SA 205-1

Quinton de Kock brings up his century with a six over long leg! Quite the way to do it.

It's 200 up for South Africa too. Van der Dussen brought up his 50 and his side's 150 simultaneously, and his batting partner follows him to move past personal and team landmarks in lockstep.

  16. SA 199-1published at 35.4 overs

A second chance of the over!

Bottom of the bat from Van der Dussen and it loops up to mid-off - Trent Boult is running back and makes an unconvincing grasp with one hand.

He should have used two, it would have been a difficult take over the shoulder but the New Zealand fielder should have done better.

The previous ball the South African batter had just about found the mid-wicket boundary with a bit of a heave.

That could've been a chance and maybe, it should have been. Quinton de Kock was then almost run out. It was spanked back at Neesham, hit Neesham, Santner picked up with De Kock out of his ground. He should've hit, De Kock wasn't in the frame.

  18. SA 194-1published at 35.1 overs

    Ouch!

De Kock absolutely lashes the ball back at Jimmy Neesham - the ball strikes him on the wrist and the bowler cries out in pain.

The South African batter has advanced down the ground in the follow through of the shot and Mitchell Santner swoops in to throw down the stumps... and misses. Should have been gone, he had time to take proper aim.

Latham is going to have to be really clever here. Latham is going to need a good chunk of Santner's remaining overs from here to be used at this stage. If another New Zealand bowler gets dispatched, they will be in a bit of a precarious position.

  20. SA 194-1published at 35 overs

Mitchell Santner delivers a tighter second over in this spell, with no boundaries from it.

Van der Dussen hurries two through the covers.
