I reckon Pakistan will be watching this and cheering every South Africa run. They desperately need South Africa to beat New Zealand.

  2. SA 188-1published at 34 overs

Jimmy Neesham returns to the attack for a first full over, having bowled three deliveries to finish Matt Henry's curtailed final visit to the crease.

De Kock welcomes him by thrashing his first ball for four and rest of the over is worked around for five more runs, the final single bringing up the 150 partnership.

It's the third time in this tournament that South Africa have racked up a partnership of that size, and the 13th time in the competition's history.

That's just gone past the keeper's left boot, that's how fine De Kock has played that.

  4. SA 179-1published at 33 overs

South Africa come back from drinks with a touch of impetus - Van der Dussen reverse sweeps Santner for three, as sub Ish Sodhi cuts off the boundary before sliding through the boundary sponge.

De Kock then scoops fine for four - 10 from the over.

Quinton de Kock has passed 500 runs in a World Cup - he is only the 16th player in history to do so.

Van der Dussen may start to get going now as he's been swinging like a rusty gate for a while now.

  7. SA 169-1published at 32 overs

Your one four of the over comes from Rassie van der Dussen, edging Boult through fine leg.

There's only been two overs since the powerplay where the ball has crossed the ropes more than once - the most recent was the 21st, where Rachin Ravindra went for 12.

    The players are taking drinks.

It's foot down time for South Africa.

  9. SA 162-1published at 31 overs

De Kock hooks Southee and finds the boundary, but just three singles from the rest of the over.

This is a strange innings, isn't it? South Africa are well set - this partnership is worth 122 - and they're not bogged down, per se, there's been periodic boundaries. But I'd have expected a bit of a gear change by now.

I was convinced they were going to have a look there, Trent Boult was imploring the umpire.

  11. SA 155-1published at 30 overs

    Is that out?

Trent Boult scuds a ball past the back of Rassie van der Dussen legs - it takes something on the way through and Boult absolutely loves this, he's down on his knees appealing and Tom Latham is wheeling away having collected the ball.

Nothing from the umpire, they'll review surely... oh, apparently not. Out of the moment, they realised it was just brushing the pads.

Just the single from the final ball of the over - a nice return to the attack for the New Zealand veteran.

That four takes Quinton de Kock past 500 runs at this tournament. That is more than any other South African at a World Cup and he's still got potentially four games to go.

He's gone past Jacques Kallis to get the record.

  13. SA 154-1published at 29 overs

Rassie van der Dussen pushes a single down to mid-on to simultaneously bring up his fifty and his side's 150.

De Kock then pulls Southee's final ball on the swivel and the ball hurries away for four through fine leg.

He's now past 500 runs for the tournament - the record is Sachin Tendulkar's 673.

South Africa are a little bit copy and paste in this World Cup. Steady start and then spring into life late on.

  15. SA 147-1published at 28 overs

De Kock clips Phillips through an empty mid-wicket for a two-bounce four.

The first signs of a gear shift? We'll see.

Matt Henry has been excellent for New Zealand this year and would be a huge miss.

  17. SA 138-1published at 27 overs

Quinton de Kock takes a quick single to end the over and bring up the century partnership from 114 balls.

Two runs from the Henry-Neesham 27th.

New Zealand cannot afford another injury.

Jimmy Neesham is going to finish Matt Henry's over and he's walking off. This is an issue.

Matt Henry is maybe semi limping off. There was a touch of his right hip after he bowled his last ball but that's it. He seems OK.

New Zealand perhaps just thinking they have bigger fish to fry in this tournament.

  20. SA 137-1published at 26.3 overs

    Uh-oh.

Bad news for New Zealand fans - Matt Henry is walking off the field halfway through his over. He was lifting his leg a bit gingerly, but it looks more precautionary than anything else.

Jimmy Neesham will bowl the final three deliveries.
