Lovely shot. Always a great shot to look at.
Once again, cracked through the off side. Beautiful shot!
Superb straight drive from Harry Brook.
Too full from Paul van Meekeren and Brook drills it back down the ground for four.
Four more! Crunched through the covers this time.

The out of form Stokes runs out the in-form Malan. Our tour in a nutshell.

The Netherlands have got a chance to put a squeeze on. If they can bowl a few dots here, they are right back into this game.
Just a couple from Logan van Beek's over with a misfield allowing Harry Brook to get off the mark.
England are set for a period of rebuilding after those two quick wickets.
Just going back to Gethyn at 10:03. No need to keep a love of Tom Jones a secret. The man is a legend.

Chris Jones: Peak out of form Root reached. He needs a hug and/or break.

Two set batters gone. Ben Stokes and Harry Brook have a rebuild job on their hands here and the weather forecast is looking gloomier and gloomier.

Malan is needlessly run out for 87. That is brilliant from Scott Edwards.
Malan run out (van Beek/ Edwards) 87 (Eng 139-3)
Gone! Scott Edwards breaks the stumps with Dawid Malan fractionally short of his ground.
Such an unnecessary dismissal. Malan wanted the single, it might have been on if they'd both gone immediately but Ben Stokes has his knee to consider and turned it down.
By that stage, Malan was halfway down the pitch and Logan van Beek scooped the ball up and released it quickly.
Edwards took it low down and broke the stumps. Despite the dive, Malan couldn't get back in time.

They're appealing, the Dutch players are looking up. Malan looks disappointed and annoyed.
Eng 139-2
We've got a check for a run out as Dawid Malan is sent back by Ben Stokes after trying to pinch a single.
Malan dives to try and get back. This is very close.

Have been to see Tom Jones multiple times. Pretend to be under protest and going as a +1 but secretly loved seeing him perform every time.
Gethyn.

Malan has played great hasn't he? He's on 87 off 73 now.
BBC's own Matthew Henry has been trying to get the term 'Roop' going for a long while now and it seems it might finally be gaining traction.
I'm not sure how I feel about it, to be honest.
Regardless, Ben Stokes is the new batter for England and is off the mark with a single.

Joe Root was going for the "Roop" shot there.

Root tries to play the little lap shot. It wasn't as full as he was expecting and it goes too far. The ball goes between his legs, narrowly misses his box and hits the top of middle stump, even though he is still in front of the stumps.
Root b van Beek 28 (Eng 133-2)
When the reverse scoop goes wrong... nutmeg!
Joe Root shapes to play the shot he seems to have mastered in the past 18 months or so but makes a mess of it this time.
The ball from Logan van Beek is not quite as full as he expects and is straight enough that it cramps him for room.
It skids through, between Root's legs and crashes into middle stump.
Malan 84, Root 28
A top-class mid-to-late 2000s encounter - but do remember to put your names on your texts!
England are happy to tick over in Aryan Dutt's latest over, taking seven from it without breaking sweat.

I raise you seeing a member of McBusted drop his beer over one of The Saturdays when they went out to dinner at the restaurant I was working in.
