And that sums up Buttler's World Cup. Totally mistimed.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 30.1 overs

    Buttler c Nidamanuru b van Meekeren 5 (Eng 178-5)

    So, so tame.

Length delivery from Paul van Meekeren and Jos Buttler tries to punch the ball over mid-off.

It wasn't quite there for the shot and there was nowhere near the timing required in any case.

Popped up to Teja Nidamanuru for a simple catch. England are in bother - again.

Three certs for the Mount Rushmore of pop... Impressive stuff, Stuart. Who would be the fourth?

I once saw Jedward switch on the Christmas lights at Braehead Shopping Centre in Glasgow. Also saw Steps and Peter Andre at Hamilton Racecourse.

Banged in short by Bas de Leede and Ben Stokes is able to swivel on it to send the ball behind square for four.

It is starting to get very gloomy in Pune but it is still dry for now.

It just looks like it could absolutely chuck it down, but at the moment all is well.

  7. Eng 167-4published at 28 overs

Steady over from Colin Ackermann and Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler take three from it.

No need for England to panic here. They've got plenty of time and with these two at the crease, catching up later on shouldn't be an issue.

There will be a reset of sorts regardless, Risbo. There are also plenty of very good white-ball players still in this England squad.

They have just managed, rather impressively, to find a way of all losing form at exactly the same time...

I'm really torn about who I want to win today. If we lose it means we will have a more comprehensive reset of the team and coaching set up. If we win it may mean cracks are papered over and less changed. On balance it may be best to take the pain now for a brighter future.

    Risbo, Farnborough

Firm drive to start from Jos Buttler but straight to the fielder at cover.

The England skipper has not been in good form at this World Cup - have any England players? - now would be a good time to change that.

Bas de Leede surprises Harry Brook with a short one. Brook shakes his head. England are losing wickets.

It's been a good 40 minutes for the Orange Army.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 26.4 overs

    Brook c Ackermann b de Leede 11 (Eng 164-4)

Top-edged pull and Harry Brook is gone.

Bouncer from Bas de Leede, Brook takes it on but can't get on top of it and the ball balloons into the leg side.

Colin Ackermann gets underneath it to take a straightforward catch.

England are wobbling, big chance for the Netherlands.

The flood lights are now taking effect. Usually doesn't happen until later. The clouds are clearing but the television crew behind us are taking no chances, moving equipment just in case.

In my university days, S Club 7 played at our student union. Well, they said it was S Club 7, there were only three of them there so it's pushing it to call them that...

Anyway, Ben Stokes keeps England moving with a drive, punched through extra cover for four.

He pulls the next delivery away but a brilliant diving stop denies him another boundary.

Took my son (Tom) to see S Club 7 "back in the day" when he was 7. He doesn't remember it, but I do - it was one of the best, most fun, concerts I have been too!

Looks like most of the rain has gone. It tipped it down in the town. Looks like the breeze helped us there.

Anything is possible... 400 could be on the cards.

Look at someone like Jos Butler, he's got the numbers behind him. But he's lost some confidence.

  18. Eng 155-3published at 25 overs

Fantastic timing from Ben Stokes, showing the ball a full face of the bat and just pushing it back past Bas de Leede.

No stopping that, it races to the boundary sponge.

Michael: The last two dismissals pretty much sum England's tournament up. Absolutely shambolic.

  20. Eng 149-3published at 24 overs

England were momentarily knocked back by those two quick wickets but Harry Brook looks determined to get them moving in the right direction again - and quickly.
