This is going the way we thought. New Zealand are trying to chase this off quickly, to boost their net run-rate, which would really boost their chance of making it to the semi-finals.

Chameera has been impressive so far.

Williamson just plays out the rest of that over, as Chameera claims a lesser-spotted and well-earned wicket-maiden.

Despite that, New Zealand have still been going at 6.61 runs an over, needing just 2.32 from here an over to get the job done.

Kane Williamson comes in to join Rachin Ravindra out in the middle. The young prodigy is looking superb, once again, today.

A loss or a slight hiccup, at this stage, is not what New Zealand want.

Horrible flare of the bat. I wonder it that hit to the hand had something to do with that there.

    That's the end of Conway!

Conway was one six away from reaching 50 at the halfway score of this chase. He danced down the track looked to go big and just picks out De Silva at short mid-wicket.

After that blow a few overs ago for Conway, maybe that is a result of not feeling 100%. Sri Lanka are going to need a lot more than that, but it is a start.

New Zealand every World Cup show up with a surprise. The players seem to be the people who come up with the decisions of the surprises.

Thanks Ffion. New Zealand are making light work of this chase.

Is there any hope for Sri Lanka?

Too short, and Ravindra isn't missing that in this form. Pulled through mid-wicket for four more to spoil an otherwise tidy over from Maheesh Theekshana.

And that's me done. Here's Jonty Colman to take you through the rest of New Zealand's chase.

In case you can't tell, I'm a fan. So good.

  12. NZ 80-0published at 11 overs

    Target 172

Rachin Ravindra takes his World Cup run tally to 559 runs in nine innings, including three centuries, averaging 79.85 and all at a strike rate of 108.

    Remarkable!

    Not slowing down yet, either.

Rachin Ravindra pulls Chameera firmly over mid-wicket for his third six!

New Zealand have proven to be the strongest batting line up.

With Conway there, this line-up goes to a complete new level. He scores big and well.

  15. NZ 73-0published at 10 overs

    Target 172

And again! New Zealand are racing to their target as Conway drives effortlessly through the covers for four more.

A win doesn't guarantee their semi-final place but they're in a very commanding position to make it. A promising powerplay, with less than 100 required now.

Devon Conway needed some runs, and he's looked in magnificent touch so far.

  17. NZ 69-0published at 9.1 overs

Bad hand or not, don't bowl there to Devon Conway.

Short, wide and cracked away for four, as easy as you like.

  18. NZ 65-0published at 9 overs

    Target 172

Conway is fine to resume after a bit of spray and a wriggle of his hand.

Good over from Chameera, just two from it.

A bit of Rachin Ravindra magic while we wait for Devon Conway's hand to heal.

  20. NZ 65-0published at 8.5 overs

    Target 172

Dushmantha Chameera causes Devon Conway a couple of problems, getting the ball to rear up and pin him on the gloves.

There's a pause in play as he gets a bit of treatment.
