  1. NZ 35-1published at 6.3 overs

    Target 398

Huge appeal for caught behind from India as Jasprit Bumrah squares up Kane Williamson with an absolute beauty.

The umpire shakes his head and India decide against the review. Good decision, it just flicked Williamson's back leg.

    A unplayable delivery regardless.

I think that the Indian bowlers have great chance at taking out NZ. Bowling dot balls makes people want to strike harder and faster to make up for it. The Indian bowlers need to capitalise on that.

  4. NZ 34-1published at 6 overs

    Target 398

    Nicely played by Kane Williamson.

He gets forward to Mohammed Shami, who overpitches by a fraction, and opens the face to drive the ball through point for four.

This attack is too good. Under the lights, India always get so much more movement on the pitch.

Two slips in place now for Kane Williamson - he's the man that India want at this stage.

  7. NZ 30-1published at 5.3 overs

    Target 398

Kane Williamson is in at three for New Zealand, who already need in excess of eight runs an over.

As if things weren't tricky enough for the Black Caps, there is decent amount of swing on offer for Mohammed Shami as well.

He's taken! That's the first wicket. Shami, he has been the best of the lot and that is a huge wicket for India.

    Conway c Rahul b Shami 13 (NZ 30-1)

Edged and gone! Mohammed Shami strikes with his first ball!

Brilliant seam position from the India seamer, the ball pitches on off and nips away to take the edge as Devon Conway drives.

KL Rahul throws himself to his left and takes a fantastic catch.

The ball is coming off Ravindra's bat OK, he's just struggling to find the gaps. He hasn't found his rhythm at the moment.

  13. NZ 30-0published at 5 overs

    Target 398

Devon Conway gets the first single of innings as he manages to keep out a threatening delivery from Jasprit Bumrah that nips back and the ball slides off the inside edge into the leg side.

Seven from the over, six of them were wides.

Looking back over the results, England (despite the loss) were the only team to keep India quiet when India batted first. Some crumbs of comfort?

  15. NZ 29-0published at 4.1 overs

    Target 398

    Five wides!

Jasprit Bumrah is trying to fire the ball in very straight to Devon Conway from round the wicket but hasn't quite nailed the line yet.

This is another ball angled down leg and it swings after going past Conway, away from KL Rahul and away to the boundary.

Just as he was getting a little shaky, that boundary will make Rachin Ravindra feel a lot better.

New Zealand are just scoring in boundaries and wides at the moment.

  17. NZ 23-0published at 4 overs

    Target 398

That should help Rachin Ravindra settle down.

On the hip from Mohammed Siraj and the New Zealand opener flicks it away through square leg for four. Nice shot.

The ball is zipping through to the keeper from Siraj and we didn't see any threat like this from Southee or Boult. The lights are on, they've got a mammoth total behind them and it is perfect for India.

  19. NZ 19-0published at 3.4 overs

    Target 398

It's another good over from Mohammed Siraj and Rachin Ravindra is perhaps just getting a bit twitchy, knowing that New Zealand have got so many runs to chase.

He pokes at a ball angled across and swinging that bit further away from the left-hander to beat the edge.

That brings a bit of excitement from the crowd.

Why has everyone written off NZ's chances? Conway, Ravindra, Williamson et al are no mugs. On a flat pitch, the pressure is surely on the Indian bowlers?
