This is the point of the game where India's juggernaut came to a halt. We had four fours and seven twos in the last 40 overs, the rest were singles and dot balls.

  2. Aus 60-3published at 10 overs

    Target 241

A good over for Australia as Travis Head guides through the gap between the slips and backward point, before he punishes a poor ball with a drive through mid-on for another successive boundaries.

That's the powerplay done. India may feel they've won that.

It was bobbling, dribbling through his legs. But you have got to stop that. That's a real bonus for Australia, and that's 15 extras now already.

  5. Aus 51-3published at 9 overs

    Target 241

KL Rahul isn't having the best day in the field.

Pressure was building on Australia with 10 successive dot balls following the Steve Smith wicket but then he lets one bobble through his legs and away for four.

Get out the long barrier, KL.

There's been nine wides and five byes already. Sloppy from India.

Steve Smith must have thought the ball had cut back in more than it had. He was off balance, and maybe that's uncertainty. But surely it makes sense to take the review, because at worse you'll have an umpire's call.

Travis Head is capable of reining it in when he has to, but that attacking approach works so well for him normally. It'll be interesting to see how he carries on.

  10. Aus 47-3published at 8 overs

    Target 241

    A maiden from Mohammed Shami.

There's a couple of play and misses in there from Travis Head too, as he tries to drive away.

Head had eight off four balls, but is now 10 off 21 balls.

Is he soaking up the pressure well? Or will it tell?

Here's how Jasprit Bumrah picked up the wicket of Mitchell Marsh.

He's removed Steve Smith since too.

There's something very, very, special about watching India at home under the lights.

It's like seeing Lionel Messi at the Nou Camp or Tiger Woods at the Masters.

    This place is going off.

    Oh no.

The impact on Steve Smith was outside the line of off stump.

He would have survived with a review.

He did debate it with Travis Head but opted not to.

    Just masterful from Jasprit Bumrah.

He knows how much Steve Smith relies on that little nudge to mid-wicket for a single. He just angles one a little fuller, a little straighter and that would have almost certainly wasted a review if he took it.

It was looking rosy a couple of overs ago. They are in a whole heap of trouble now.

Hello! This has got VERY interesting!

My instinct was that Steve Smith had managed to get outside the line of off stump, but the replay suggests he hasn't quite got across.

We haven't seen the ball tracking yet, but I suspect it would have crashed into off stump as Jasprit Bumrah brilliantly cramps Smith, who isn't really moving his feet.

Lovely balance from Steve Smith. He doesn't move his feet much, he relies purely on his head position and waiting for the ball. The timing of his movements is perfection.

  17. Aus 47-2published at 6.4 overs

    Target 241

    Lovely.

Steve Smith is off the mark with a beautiful straight drive through mid-on for four.

    Perfect balance and placement.

In India's innings, they were flying in the first seven overs but then the runs really dried up when the ball got a bit battered and a bit abrasive. Australia seem to be taking the same approach and want to make the most of the new ball when it's easier to hit.

  20. Aus 42-2published at 6 overs

The chase element of this game has settled down a little as Australia decide to take their foot off the pedal slightly.

It certainly hasn't settled down in the crowd, or in the India team. It's lively. Every dot is cheered and applauded as the pressure creeps up.
