Blaze 146-5 v Vipers
Charlie Dean in for her fifth over.
Tammy Beaumont scampers through for a single and makes it home despite a direct hit.
Four straight dots build the frustration for Sophie Munro who does stroke a single from the last.
The lowest score by the team batting first in a Heyhoe Flint final is 183 all out by Northern Diamonds in 2021.
Even though the game has been cut to 48 overs a side, The Blaze look to be on course to surpass that.
The highest total batting first is 231 all out by Southern Vipers in the inaugural 2020 final.
Blaze 144-5 v Vipers
Sophie Munro tries to thrash Georgia Elwiss to the rope, but can only manage a single.
Three more singles and a leg bye from Elwiss. The Vipers will take that.
13 overs to go.
Blaze 139-5 v Vipers
Tammy Beaumont is doing the business for the Blaze, having been dropped twice earlier in her innings.
But we hope everyone has noticed the immaculate glovework of Vipers keeper Rhianna Southby.
Blaze 139-5 Vipers
England white ball spinner Charlie Dean is back into the attack.
Sophie Munro finds the change tricky and Dean almost sneaks one through her defences before Munro jams her bat down just in time.
Tidy over. Just the Tammy Beaumont single from it.
Blaze 138-5 v Vipers
A Sophie Munro square cut off Georgia Elwiss beats the fielder in the race to the boundary.
Elwiss recovers well to get over the over with four dots.
Both batters are well set now. Will they kick on this time or will Vipers make another timely breakthrough?
Blaze 133-5 v Vipers
Tammy Beaumont sweeps Ava Lee down behind deep square leg, but finds the fielder and takes a single.
The England batter then comes down the wicket and takes Lee for a one-bounce four to the deep midwicket boundary.
The over costs nine and Beaumont moves onto 65.
Blaze 124-5 v Vipers
Georgia Elwiss lets out a cry as her third ball smacks into the pads of Sophie Munro.
It was going down leg and Munro takes a couple.
But it's sandwiched either side between a string of dots.
Another economical over for Vipers.
Blaze 122-5 v Vipers
Ava Lee is into the seventh over of her spell and continues to toss the ball up and give the batters no pace to work with.
Just two singles this time to take her figures to 0-25.
When will the Blaze need to accelerate? They have 18 overs left to decide.
They can't afford to lose more wickets just yet, but they also can't leave their dash too late.
Blaze 120-5 v Vipers
The Blaze continue to deal in singles as Mary Taylor bowls a tight line in her seventh over.
Just four from it. The run rate is just a tad above four an over.
Blaze 116-5 v Vipers
Unbelievable scenes at Northampton as the sun cuts its way through the murk.
Ava Lee has been impressive this morning and serves up four dots before Sophie Munro follows a two with a single.
Rita Green
BBC Radio Berkshire sport reporter
"She's really in now and will be looking to get up to three figures for her side."
Blaze 113-5 v Vipers
The Vipers have had a superb morning, but have also leaked plenty of extras.
Two more wides, this time from Mary Taylor, takes extras tally to 16.
Tammy Beaumont then cuts the medium pacer's final ball for a super four.
That's her sixth boundary and The Blaze will need plenty more you feel.
Blaze 106-5 v Vipers
Once again a Blaze stand is broken as it begins to build.
Kathryn Bryce nicks the first ball of Mary Taylor's sixth over behind to Rhianna Southby standing up to the wicket.
A 40-run stand is broken and Sophie Munro is in.
Blaze 106-4 v Vipers
Tammy Beaumont drives Ava Lee through the covers for four.
She then nudges a single to bring up a 78-ball fifty.
A vital knock for Blaze hopes of silverware.
Blaze 100-4 v Vipers
Georgia Adams plumps for medium pace after the drinks break as Mary Taylor returns to the attack.
A Tammy Beaumont single brings up three figures in the fifth ball of the 25th over and takes her to 45.
Just four singles from the over.
Blaze 96-4 v Vipers
Ava Lee again and Tammy Beaumont goes on the attack.
She's down the wicket and drives it over the infield for four.
She tries the same approach to the next ball, but this is not so well timed and plonks it just a few yards over the head of Georgia Adams for two.
We're halfway through the Blaze knock and it's time for drinks
Blaze 88-4 v Vipers
Three singles are nudged from the first three balls of Georgia Adams' fifth over.
Two more follow. Vipers will not mind that one bit.
Beaumont has 35 from 65 balls - some way below her normal strike rate.
But she is still there there's hope for the Blaze.
Blaze 83-4 v Vipers
Another impressive over from Ava Lee.
Just two singles from it.
